Hunter Moore was the most hated man on the internet — that is, until his online presence saw its day of reckoning. The self-proclaimed “professional life ruiner” is the subject of the new documentary, and the story is as troubling as it is vindicating.
At its core, The Most Hated Man on the Internet is about one mother’s troubling mission to bring down Moore’s internet revenge-porn empire after he posted nude pictures of her daughter online. In 2010, Moore founded IsAnyoneUp.com, a site dedicated to posting explicit photos of both men and women, shared without consent. Moore built a troubling cult following through the site; many supported his mission, and IsAnyoneUp.com became a beacon of X-rated content, misogynistic chatter, and of course, nude photography and videos.
It’s enough to make your skin crawl, but The Most Hated Man on the Internet is less about the perpetrator and more about the victims who were brave enough to come forward to stop him.
“I immediately saw that this story could make an utterly compelling series: a crusade for justice against all the odds wrapped up in a world of real-life and online depravity,” executive producer Alex Marengo told Raw TV. “I’m so proud of our uniquely talented team who turned the lens onto Hunter Moore and turned his victims into the ultimate winners by giving them their voices, silenced until now.”
The three-part series, directed by Rob Miller, streams July 27.
