Before you start watching The Mole, you should know that the entire series is based on lies. A dozen strangers are competing to earn money in a jackpot that only one of them will take home — and one of them is actively working to sabotage the rest.
The reality competition, hosted by Alex Wagner, was broadcast originally in the US in 2001 before heading to Netflix 21 years later for a rebooted version. Now, 12 new players compete in physical and mental challenges in order to add money to their pot of prize money — only one of them is a traitor. The rest must uncover which of their peers is actually sabotaging them from the inside — and which are trying to cast suspicion on themselves in order to steer people in the wrong direction and take the jackpot for themselves.
The three-week event begins Oct. 7 on Netflix. Meet the players below.

Age: 26
Location: Phoenix
Occupation: Professional Gamer
Avori hails from a small town in Springfield, Illinois, and has always been drawn to the thrill of competition. At 17, Avori was set to compete at the state level for the Miss Missouri beauty pageant when she got an incredible opportunity to play in a gaming tournament on Team USA after a video she uploaded went viral. Finding herself the only woman competing with 55 men, Avori knew that this was where she was supposed to be. Since then, she’s become well known in the gaming world. Most recently, Avori brought her strategic mind to the new competition series Battle Camp, competing against other members of the Netflix Reality Universe.
Avori is confident that being a professional gamer will give her a leg up. She’s always coming up with new gaming strategies, as well as analyzing players, ammunition, tactical equipment and her surroundings.
Main strategy: “Watch every detail of every player and spot inconsistencies.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “I have a background in problem-solving, but I value people’s good word too much in a game of lies.”
Lying ability: “I really try, but no.”

Age: 39
Location: Chico, California
Occupation: COVID ICU Nurse
Born and raised in Northern California, Casey has had a busy few years as a Covid ICU nurse. Before that, she was an English teacher in Japan, a recruiter in Silicon Valley and an advertising project manager. Being a COVID ICU nurse has taught Casey how to lead a team, react quickly, keep composure and learn new skills while making life or death decisions.
Casey is an avid athlete and is always training for the next triathlon or competition. She completed the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon and successfully swam from “the Rock” to shore in a 1.5-mile swim followed by a 20-mile bike ride and 6-mile run through the hills of San Francisco.
Main strategy: “Be silent but deadly — lay low and let others make mistakes and show their emotions. From the sidelines, I would always be watching, listening and learning.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “I’m smart, athletic, insightful, a leader as well as a team player, good listener, quick-witted, and I’m always up for an adventure. Most importantly, I hate to lose! But I have a tendency to wear my heart on my sleeve, I really don’t like to eat gross things like bugs and, at times, I can be way too nice.”
Lying ability: “Would I say that I’m the best liar in the world? No. But have I been able to tell lies to avoid getting in trouble or get what I want? Definitely.”

Age: 29
Location: Toronto
Occupation: Heavy Machine Operator
Dom Gabriel was raised by a single mother, who he says is now his best friend. Growing up, Dom wanted to prove he could excel at everything from boxing to lyrical dance. He’s 6 foot 4 inches, well built and covered in tattoos, but inside, Dom is really a softy with a nerdy side. You can often find him on the couch catching up on comics or anime.
Dom works at a Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream factory, where he hauls heavy loads of ice cream all day long. The factory has to be kept at freezing temperatures so Dom has to completely suit up in winter clothes and take 20-minute breaks so that he can stay safe. He’s ready to get out of the freezer and into the Australian Outback.
Main strategy: “First and foremost... put money in the pot. And just adjust accordingly. I feel like they throw so many twists at you [that] you just have to adapt and go with it.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “I’m athletic and competitive. I can put money in the pot. I have good intuition. But I can also be pretty emotional and I have a soft spot, which can cloud that intuition and judgment at times.”
Lying ability: “I can maybe leave stuff out of a story, but I’m not a good liar. Never been. Always got caught growing up.”

Age: 32
Location: Seattle
Occupation: Marketing Consultant
Quick-witted Greg grew up on the Jersey Shore and graduated top of his class both in high school and college. He proudly proclaims that he was raised by strong Jewish parents. Though he’s thankful for the NYC street smarts gained throughout his career, Greg is actually a free-spirited adventure seeker who’s used to surviving in foreign environments. He’s traveled to over 40 countries and backpacked all over the world.
Greg works as a market research consultant behind his computer and refers to himself as a “professional troll.” He says the marketing role has taught him how to read people well, as he spends his days figuring out if they’re lying. He’s confident that he’ll be able to gain people’s trust and use that to his advantage to take it to the end.
Main strategy: “Not discuss my suspicions with anyone, but still somehow form partnerships to influence group opinions and decision-making.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “My strengths are being bold, decisive and extremely observant. My weaknesses are that I can be lazy, reactive and ego-driven.”
Lying ability: “I’m actually a really bad liar, but a decent truth manipulator.”

Age: 29
Location: Bloomville, Ohio
Occupation: Firefighter Paramedic Lieutenant
Jacob is an all-American guy who hopes his Midwestern charm and unwavering loyalty will help him succeed in The Mole. Born and raised in the country in a small village in Ohio, Jacob is the youngest in his family. After receiving his EMT certification, he went on to complete his firefighter and paramedic training, and has been an essential part of his local firehouse for the last eight years.
Recently, Jacob tragically lost his father to a heart attack. In response, Jacob has lost over 65 pounds in the past five years as part of his fitness journey. He works out six to eight times a week and has even become somewhat of an amateur weight lifter. Jacob is your typical blue-collar boy who enjoys wading out in the swamp, hunting, fishing, drinking a beer with his friends and family, riding his Harley and working on his ’91 Jeep Wrangler.
Main strategy: “Sit back and observe. I [can] read everyone and watch for their mistakes, and with this strategy it would cause everyone to be suspicious of me as well because I’m not trying to be the loudest.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “My strength 100% [is] my ability to stay calm and collected in any situation. I’m trained for high-stress situations, and I took this training and knowledge with me. [And] my ability to talk and converse with anyone. My greatest weakness [is] my inability to keep my mouth shut sometimes.”
Lying ability: “I do consider myself a sneak and a good liar.”

Age: 40
Location: Atlanta
Occupation: Commercial Airline Pilot
Black women represent less than 1% of professional pilots — and Joi is one of them. When Joi’s father, a retired aircraft mechanic, sat her behind the controls of military aircraft, she immediately knew being in the pilot’s seat was her calling. After she graduated from Georgia State with a degree in psychology, Joi supported herself through flight school while working as a flight attendant.
When Joi isn’t flying, she’s a wife and mother, which also has motivated her to pursue a career as a health and fitness coach. Her own struggle with weight loss after giving birth fueled her to live a healthy lifestyle, and she wanted to help other moms achieve that as well. Joi knows if she can control and manipulate a 200,000-pound aircraft, there’s no doubt she can control her competition in The Mole.
Main strategy: “Find another player I trust and join forces with them to identify the mole.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “My strength is my ability to control other players without them realizing they [are] being manipulated. Overthinking the game [is] my weakness.”
Lying ability: “I don’t consider myself a good liar at all! I [rely] on my acting skills to manipulate others while keeping a poker face.”

Age: 27
Location: New York City
Occupation: Software Developer
Kesi grew up with four brothers and sisters in the backcountry of Kentucky. Their parents, two civil rights activists, took them on road trips during school weeks and showed Kesi how to be spontaneous.
After obtaining an engineering degree at Columbia University (where she also captained a Division 1 volleyball team), Kesi landed a software development job at Goldman Sachs. She implemented infrastructure solutions across Goldman’s entire business technology and became one of the top 10% associates of 2020. Since resigning from Goldman in March of 2021, Kesi has traveled to Mexico, Hawaii and New York. She spends her days surfing, playing beach volleyball, biking, reading and writing.
Main strategy: “Be the team Labrador — trustworthy, kind and nonthreatening.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “My strength is that I’m a computer scientist, meaning I’m a deep analytical thinker. With time and observation, I can profile people fairly accurately. However, my weakness is that I’m not always quick on my feet.”
Lying ability: “I don’t consider myself a sneaky, good liar. I have learned that when you lie, someone always gets hurt.”

Age: 32
Location: Brooklyn
Occupation: Real Estate Agent
Born and raised in New York, Osei is the eldest in a family of 15 children. Osei has always been known as the class clown or the “funny kid.”
Having worked a variety of odd jobs, Osei is highly adaptive and can thrive in almost any environment. He recently got his real estate license and is ready to embark on a new career path. Throughout his life, he’s relied on his charisma to smooth-talk his way out of sticky situations, and he plans on doing exactly that in this competition to earn the win.
Main strategy: “Be myself, which tends to confuse people anyway.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “I’d say my strengths are being persistent and outgoing; my weaknesses are being impulsive and impatient.”
Lying ability: “I don’t consider myself a good liar, but I’m pretty observant enough to see what kind of people are around me.”

Age: 29
Location: Boston
Occupation: Law Firm Associate
Growing up in New Jersey, Pranav was fascinated with all things related to physics and space and dreamed of becoming an astronaut. Pranav excelled in school and varsity athletics and went on to major in biomedical engineering at Northwestern University, where he also discovered a love of dance. After completing his undergraduate studies, Pranav moved to Gainesville, Florida, to attend the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He graduated in 2022 and moved to Boston to work at an intellectual property law firm.
In 2018, Pranav and two of his close friends created a new touring dance company, AfroDesi, which blends Afro and Indo music and movement. So far, he and his team have completed multiple national and international tours spanning four continents. Intelligent, athletic and adaptable, Pranav believes that the power of knowledge will help him dominate his competition.
Main strategy: “In preparing for the game, I focused on developing skills that could help me understand players’ motives and actions in real time so that I could be appropriately reactive. But four eyes are better than two. There’s a lot of information to take in, and having a person or two that you choose to trust early on could bode well as the game develops.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “My strengths include my competitiveness, my ability to stay calm in pressure situations and perhaps most importantly, my ability to stay neutral and maintain beneficial relationships with all players. My primary weaknesses are that I can lose sight of noteworthy occurrences when I become hyper-focused on successfully completing challenges and that my persona can be too threatening for garnering the trust of others.”
Lying ability: “I know myself to be a very good liar. I often play devil’s advocate against my own beliefs to mentally spar with others, and I find that speaking and acting with conviction is a great way to dissuade any nonbelievers in my lies.”

Age: 25
Location: Atlanta
Occupation: Mental Health Counselor
Samara was born and raised in a small town in Maryland where everyone knew everyone else. She’s one of seven siblings and was raised by a single and hardworking mother, an EMT and 911 dispatcher who she considers her ultimate hero and cheerleader. Samara attended West Virginia University and then moved to Atlanta to begin a modeling career and earn a master’s degree in clinical psychology.
Currently Samara works as a mental health counselor with at-risk LGBTQ teens. She’s confident that, with her background in psychology and strong communication skills, she will easily be able to figure out who the mole is. Samara exercises regularly, loves anything to do with adventure and considers herself a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
Main strategy: “Form relationships with people and allow them to trust me.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “I would say my strengths are being competitive, being a people person and being able to watch everyone’s behavior. My weaknesses include being a bit gullible (I will admit that) and comprehending the tough reality that I would have to scheme and manipulate people, despite that not being who I am. But I mean hey, we’re all in it to win the money so… whatever it takes.
Lying ability: “I would consider myself a good liar when I have to be. Initially, I like to always tell the truth because that’s just who I am as a person. But being honest is not going to help me in this game, so I have to be very deceitful.”

Age: 26
Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Occupation: ABA Therapist
A Texan girl at heart, Sandy was born in Fort Worth and was raised by her father. When Sandy was just seven, her mother was abducted and has not been seen since. Not only have police continued to pursue this case, but Sandy has also done some investigative work of her own — though no new information has yet come to light. Sandy is extremely independent and confidently goes after what she wants. Through the highs and lows she makes sure to keep God first.
As an ABA professional, Sandy provides behavioral therapy to children who have autism spectrum disorder. Her patience and warm heart calm those around her. A natural leader, Sandy has the beauty and the brains to maneuver her way through this game and make it to the end.
Main strategy: “Stay true to myself. Don’t speak or give out more information than needed to the other players. I want to stay very vague and suspicious.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “Being warmhearted, friendly and understanding — a blessing and a curse. [I can form] strong bonds with some of the contestants, which will then lead them to trust me with certain information that would help me on quizzes, [but I can also reveal] a little more of myself than I would like.”
Lying ability: “I like to think I’m sneaky and a good liar... guess this series will reveal if I really am.”

Age: 29
Location: Henderson, Nevada
Occupation: Lifestyle Brand Manager
Will was born and raised in Las Vegas, and from a young age, it was obvious he was going to be an athlete. He played a number of sports, and he fulfilled his dream of playing baseball in college. After graduation, Will wanted to continue his involvement with sports and now works as a lifestyle brand manager for athletes.
Will still trains like a professional athlete and can often be found at the gym. Physically, he’s a force to be reckoned with — he's 6-foot-5, 240 pounds with long blond hair and the looks of Thor. Will loves adventure and will do anything for the people he is closest to.
Main strategy: “My voting process — I [am not] going to vote for specifically one person.”
Biggest strengths and weaknesses: “My competitive nature is my strength and my weakness. Because even in situations that could really help me look bad, my brain would always yell at me about how we don’t lose on purpose. One of my other biggest strengths that I think may sound weird is common-sense knowledge. I think sometimes [my competitors will] overanalyze every little degree instead of paying more attention to the person. I like to read people.”
Lying ability: “I know I’m [a good liar], and this may be the only situation where that is something to brag about. It [will be] very easy to use my fellow cast members’ emotions against them.”
