For those in love with dystopian YA, rejoice! The Maze Runner trilogy is now streaming on Netflix. The franchise tells the tale of a young scientist and the group of misfits among whom he mysteriously wakes up — all memories wiped but their names. He must then lead them through a killer maze to freedom. But when they finally make it out, they find the outside world ravaged by solar flares, which have decimated the planet’s population and left the dregs of humanity plagued with a sickness called the Flare.

The Maze Runner movies star Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf), Kaya Scodelario (The Woman in Cabin 10), Will Poulter (The Bear), Ki Hong Lee (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (The Queen’s Gambit), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Walton Goggins (The White Lotus), and Patricia Clarkson (Sharp Objects). The film franchise is based on a series of novels by James Dashner, who also wrote a prequel trilogy that explained how the Maze Runner experiments began.

The Maze Runner

A group of young men without memories struggle to find their way out of a deadly maze. Led by Thomas (O’Brien), the group seems no closer to freedom until Teresa (Scodelario), a mysterious woman who seems to hold the key to escaping, suddenly joins them. The Maze Runner is directed by Wes Ball (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), who also directed the subsequent films.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

After escaping the maze and making it to a remote fortified outpost, the Gladers — Thomas, Teresa, and friends — must make a daring escape across the Scorch, a desolate wasteland marked with damage from solar flares and infested with Cranks, who were once human but are now infected with the Flare. The Gladers have only one hope against the powerful organization WCKD, which trapped them in the maze: They’ve got to find the resistance group known as the Right Arm, before it’s too late.

Maze Runner: Death Cure

In the final installment of the trilogy, the Gladers attempt their most daring mission yet. To save their infected and imprisoned friends — and potentially the world — they must break into the Last City, a WCKD-controlled territory that poses even more danger than the maze.
