What happens in Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4?

In the Season 3 finale, Maggie’s ex, Liam — whom she hasn’t seen in years — checks into the Sullivan’s Crossing campground. The unexpected new guest, who introduces himself as Maggie’s current husband in front of her friends and boyfriend, Cal, brings heavy baggage with him. At the start of Season 4, Liam shares that he’s only in town because he’s moving to Europe to continue his successful career as a war reporter and needs a copy of Maggie’s and his marriage annulment for his visa process. But the unresolved tension between Liam and Maggie says otherwise; the dissolution of their marriage was as abrupt as their whirlwind romance. 

As Liam attempts to work his way back into Maggie’s life, Cal steps in to defend his new relationship, and the two men butt heads over simple camp chores like chopping firewood. When Liam and Cal set off for a hike together, the last thing they expect is to find they have more in common than they thought. As Maggie connects with her lawyer to track down Liam’s and her paper trail, and Liam’s hike with Cal goes awry, Sullivan’s Crossing may end up feeling a bit more crowded this season. Will Cal and Maggie’s relationship survive? And can Maggie get her general practice off the ground in the midst of all this personal turmoil?

Is Sullivan’s Crossing based on a book?

Yes. Sullivan’s Crossing is based on the book series of the same name by Robyn Carr and was adapted for television by Roma Roth. Carr also wrote the books that Roth’s Netflix series Virgin River is based on.
