Grab your keys and hop in, because The Lincoln Lawyer has been renewed for a second season. Inspired by Michael Connelly’s bestselling 2005 book of the same name, the series follows Los Angeles lawyer Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) as he works on cases from his office of choice: the backseat of a Lincoln SUV.
The first season sees Ruffo take up the mantle of the smooth-talking, constantly snacking, traveling lawyer from Matthew McConaughey, who plays the character in the 2011 movie. After recovering from major surgery (and a subsequent pill problem), Mickey gets back into the legal game by working on cases bequeathed to him by a deceased colleague.

Along the way, he has to juggle relationships with prosecutor ex-wife Maggie (Neve Campbell), his other ex-wife and current assistant Lorna (Becki Newton), daughter Hayley (Krista Warner), driver Izzy (Jazz Raycole), investigator Cisco (Angus Sampson) and his biggest client, calculating tech CEO Trevor Elliot (Christopher Gorham).
And while a big case wraps in spectacular fashion at the end of Season 1(no spoilers, don’t worry), there are plenty more lingering mysteries for Mickey and the series to investigate in Season 2. It’ll be based on the fourth book in Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer series, The Fifth Witness. Dailyn Rodriguez joins the series as co-showrunner and executive producer, along with co-showrunner and executive producer Ted Humphrey.
