In the first look at the new season, which Fey, Fisher, Wigfield, David Miner, Jeff Richmond, and Eric Gurian executive produce, the crew packs their bags and heads out for some new adventures. The squad can be seen lounging on the beach, climbing mountains, and enjoying a glass or two of wine. Kate’s Catskills sweatshirt offers a clue as to one of the locales they’ll be exploring. Ginny and her baby bump, which she cradles overlooking a vista, are also along for the jet-setting ride.

A quick rehash of their past itineraries: Season 1, adapted from Alan Alda’s 1981 movie of the same name, follows a close-knit friend group that takes a different trip each season. “You don’t see them at home, you don’t see them at work. It’s just these friends on vacation,” Fey told Tudum about Season 1. In Episodes 1 and 2, the group heads to Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne’s lakehouse. Episodes 3 and 4 find them in more tropical climes at an eco resort. They descend upon their leafy fictional alma mater for parents’ weekend in Episodes 5 and 6. And finally they hit the ski slopes in Episodes 7 and 8.

But when Nick and Anne split up — and Nick starts dating his dental hygienist, Ginny — the abrupt change forces the friend group to come to terms with the ways they need to grow both as partners and as friends to each other. In these actors’ hands, the group weathers these blind spots and triumphs with the sense of humor that has made this stacked cast into household names.

Season 1 ended on a dramatic cliffhanger: While on vacation with Ginny and her mushroom-coffee-loving friends, Steve gets into a fatal car crash. And when Kate, Jack, Danny, Claude, Anne, and Ginny come together for the funeral, Ginny confides in Anne that she’s pregnant with Nick’s child.

Log your out-of-office dates for the new installment of The Four Seasons, taking off on May 28. And stay tuned to Tudum for the itinerary until then.
