It’s spooky szn, and what better way to ring it in than with an R.L. Stine-y fright fest complete with a haunted house and possessed red-eyed ghouls? In The Curse of Bridge Hollow, Syd and her parents settle into their new digs in a quaint New England town after moving from Brooklyn. While Syd misses her former home, she warms up to the place when she notices how much everyone loves Halloween — which they take very, very seriously. Her father, a science teacher and supernatural skeptic, is wary of the town’s commitment to the hokey holiday. But when Syd accidentally frees an evil spirit called Stingy Jack, she and her dad must team up to stop him from wreaking havoc on the town.
Scream king Marlon Wayans stars alongside Stranger Things actor Priah Ferguson in the family-friendly horror comedy from Are You Afraid of the Dark? (2021) and Truth or Dare director Jeff Wadlow.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow is available to stream Oct. 14.
