In 1974, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre laid the groundwork for the slasher genre as we know it today. This subset of horror films introduced the world to fledgling actors who would grow into well-known talents, like Jamie Lee Curtis and Jennifer Aniston. Over the years, many incarnations of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre have done the same: We’ve seen Viggo Mortensen, Renée Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey square off against several variations of Leatherface. This year, the TCM franchise is once again taking on a new form — and it’s filled with fresh faces that will likely haunt a whole new generation of viewers. Here’s exactly who Leatherface will be hunting down in the 2022 version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The lead character in our story, Lila, is a survivor of a horrific school shooting. She is weary of traveling to rural Texas and struggles with survivor’s guilt. This isn’t Fisher’s first big-screen foray: The actor started their career at age 6, appearing on the hit NBC series Medium. From there, Fisher voiced fan-favorite Agnes in the first two Despicable Me movies, which became a worldwide phenomenon. But Fisher’s breakthrough role came in 2018, when they were cast as the lead in Bo Burnham’s widely praised comedy-drama Eighth Grade, for which Fisher received critical and commercial acclaim. Melody, Lila’s older sister, is a foodie with a large social media presence who tries to create a digital utopia out of the abandoned town of Harlow, Texas, with her friend Dante. Instead, she encounters a newly reemerged Leatherface and has to fight for her life. Since 2011, Yarkin has been featured in various short films and smaller TV roles. In 2016, she was cast as a younger version of Debra in Transparent and, in 2017, played Peg in the YouTube Red original series Foursome. Yarkin’s mainstream breakthrough was in 2019 when she played Dre in Happy Death Day 2U, the sequel to the wildly popular time-loop slasher from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures.

Melody’s business partner, Dante, dreams of opening a hot-spot restaurant in the dying town of Harlow, Texas. But his plan soon expands to fully gentrifying Harlow — he buys up most of the town and sells it to entrepreneur friends. Latimore initially started his career in music, releasing his first singles around 2006 before eventually moving into TV acting. In 2014, he had roles in the popular films Ride Along and The Maze Runner, and in 2018, he took on the lead role of Emmett in the hit CW series The Chi. A year later, he appeared in the Netflix original movie Candy Jar. . Latimore still pursues his music career and continues to release new songs year after year. TCM will be his horror film debut.

As a handyman hired by Dante to help in the restoration efforts of Harlow, Richter initially clashes with the main characters — until Leatherface appears. The Irish actor Moe Dunford started his career in 2010 in Showtime’s The Tudors. From there, he made his leading role debut in Patrick’s Day as Patrick, a man with schizophrenia who goes missing. He most recently played Aethelwulf in Vikings and received critical acclaim as Ronan in 2018’s The Dig.
