Text your group chat, preheat your oven and get a huge pitcher of sweet tea ready: Your favorite feel-good drama, Sweet Magnolias, is coming back. On Feb. 4, we’ll finally get to return to Serenity, catch up with the Magnolias, and find out who was in that brutal car crash with Maddie’s (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) son Kyle (Logan Allen). That cliffhanger aside, though, Season 2 also promises a heaping helping of romance, secrets and friendships stronger than Helen’s (Heather Headley) lethal margaritas.
Garcia Swisher, Headley and Brooke Elliott will reprise their roles as the tightest-knit trio in town. And all our favorite and least favorite Serenity, South Carolina, residents will be back, too, including Kyle, Ty (Carson Rowland), Noreen (Jamie Lynn Spears), Cal (Justin Bruening), Bill (Chris Klein) and Annie (Anneliese Judge). Dana Sue’s ex-husband, Ronnie (Brandon Quinn), and Sullivan’s sous chef Erik (Dion Johnstone) will also join the show’s main cast.
In a September interview with People, Garcia Swisher teased that the Prom night car crash was really just “one of many” high-drama moments. “I'm dying for fans to be able to see Season 2, because it’s like pedal to the metal and insanity,” she added.
Along with a release date, we have a few first-glimpse photos of Season 2. Take a look below, and again, grab your ride-or-dies — this is shaping up to be one margarita night you won’t want to miss.
