It’s your turn to venture into the world of high-stakes luxury real estate with Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset. You’re The Oppenheim Group’s latest hire in this cutthroat competition to become the top realtor in Los Angeles. From the Hollywood Hills to Malibu and beyond, it’s your job to sell as many glitzy properties as possible, to earn your shot at the O brothers Jason and Brett’s $100 million listing — and the massive commission that comes with it. Who doesn’t love a little office drama?

What’s Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset about?

Like the glam Netflix reality show that inspired it — returning for its eighth season on Sept. 6 — Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset is all about taking calculated, smart risks in the hyper-competitive Southern California luxury real-estate market. Fresh off a plane from the Midwest, it’s your first day on the job at The Oppenheim Group when twin brothers Jason and Brett lay down a challenge: prove yourself worthy of their $100 million Bel Air compound listing by being the highest-selling agent of the quarter.

It starts with finding a buyer for a $10 million Sunset condo. From there? Your first official listing: a $3 million new build in the Valley. To succeed, you’ll navigate relationships with Selling Sunset’s cast of badasses, office rivalries, picking a BFF, falling in love, and racking up as many commissions as you can along the way. It wouldn’t be Selling Sunset without a smattering of exclusive events and co-worker parties.

You aren’t the only new hire — you’re joined by Bridget, who will stop at nothing to take you down. She’s malicious, self-serving, and has, should we say, flexible ethics.

What kind of game is Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset?

Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset is a mobile game based on the drama-filled Netflix reality show of the same name. You’ll create your agent, pick an outfit, name, pronouns, and then start selling your way across the City of Angels. Gameplay primarily has you making choices as to when to talk with affluent clients and co-workers, the prime negotiating tactic you’ll use in this text-based, pocket-sized drama simulator. Like the other Netflix Stories games, you’ll do it all by tapping through conversation options.

What’s new in Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset?

While the primary gameplay is like that of other Netflix Stories games, Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset has a few new twists — like the phone feature, with which you can text co-workers, clients, and love interests. You can even call them if you’d rather go for something a little more intimate.

On the show, everyone loves ringing the bell after they close a sale, land a new client, or hit a major life milestone — like Chrishell buying her first house. Here, you’ll swipe as hard and fast as you can to celebrate every sale you make. Don’t break the chain handle!

Being a realtor is brand new, too. It goes beyond simple narrative decisions. Here you’ll work each stage of a sale as you gain new clients and unlock new neighborhoods. Every time you meet a tony new buyer, you’ll show them around each property and try to persuade them into a purchase by showing them exactly what they’d like about it. Pay attention to what they’ve said before and your chances are improved. Get it wrong and your client will take note. Don’t worry though: Their client card holds the keys on how to best work with them.

Rewards are another new feature of Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset. As you undertake the glamorous life of a La La Land real estate broker, you’ll be rewarded along the way. You’ll have multiple choices too — like picking a luxury bag or a watch. You know what’d look great with either of those? A new Italian super-car or European SUV. Once you get far enough, maybe you’ll even get to pick a driveway to park one of those in.

Do I need to watch the show to play Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset?

You don’t! Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset was designed to be enjoyed whether you’ve binged all eight seasons multiple times or if you’re brand new to the world of luxury real estate. If you have watched the show enough to the point where you can tell Jason and Brett apart in any given scene, there are some welcome surprises here for you.

The presentation has gotten a big upgrade, and Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset looks and feels an awful lot like the Netflix show. Swooping establishing shots, animated scene transitions, and the same type of evocative music with on-point lyrics for whatever just happened all help sell the drama.
