Head back to the bathroom because we’re just a few weeks away from Season 2 of Russian Doll. The upcoming chapter of the Emmy-winning series will pick up four years after Season 1, with Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) exploring a whole new box of timelines.
“Discovering a fate even worse than endless death, this season finds Nadia and Alan delving deeper into their pasts through an unexpected time portal located in one of Manhattan’s most notorious locations, the New York City subway,” the official synopsis reads. “At first they experience this as an ever-expanding, era-spanning, intergenerational adventure, but they soon discover this extraordinary event might be more than they bargained for and, together, must search for a way out.”

In the new trailer, fans get a glimpse into Nadia and Alan’s mysterious and time-bending world, along with all of the existential mysteries to come. The newly released clip opens with Nadia waiting for the subway. Once she boards, she seemingly finds herself in the ’80s. “I broke time,” she quips to a confused Alan.
The rest of the trailer hints at all of the era-hopping adventures and dangers waiting for Nadia and Alan, along with plenty of fatal traps for Nadia to potentially experience her death — yet again. But don’t call her a time traveler. In her words, “I prefer the term ‘time prisoner.’”
Russian Doll Season 2 premieres on April 20, but, until then, you can hop on a time-loop subway with the trailer below.
