They’re here, they’re hungry and they’re taking over the planet: Tudum has your first look at the Infected from the new Resident Evil live-action series. As the T-virus that creates them spreads worldwide, human survivors will have to learn how to handle these mindless terrors, unless they want to join them.

The series follows Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska), a young woman who struggles to fit into the pre-apocalypse world of New Raccoon City. When all hell breaks loose, that world gets a whole lot more complicated, and Jade is forced to confront her haunted past — and her father, Albert (Lance Reddick), whose work with the sinister Umbrella Corporation may have helped cause said apocalypse. And you thought your dad was embarrassing.

The images give us a glimpse of different kinds of Infected that have overrun the planet. There’s a contortionist, a snarling screamer, a duo just trying to enjoy a nice lunch and a whole crowd of commuters just getting off the train on the London Underground. Hey, they’re not hurting anyone! Let them live!

The new Resident Evil series comes from the mind of Andrew Dabb (Supernatural). Dabb is a die-hard fan of the video games — he called the original his favorite of all time — but the show is an original story that draws from the franchise’s lore without following any one specific narrative. Alongside Balinska and Reddick, the series also stars Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Núñez. You can join Jade in fleeing from the Infected yourself when Resident Evil hits Netflix on July 14.
