My Life with the Walter Boys is gearing up to make the jump from the page to the screen, with production officially beginning in Calgary. The popular Wattpad novel by Ali Novak has since been turned into a published book and is now getting a 10-episode series adaptation with a talent-packed ensemble cast.

Like its original source material, the series follows 15-year-old Jackie Howard, who loses her entire family in a tragic accident. She’s forced to move from the busy streets of Manhattan to a small town in rural Colorado, where she goes to live with her new guardian... and 10 very rowdy boys.

On My Block’s Nikki Rodriguez will star as Jackie, who’s described as preppy, bright and motivated, with a love of ballet and theater. She has her future planned — AP classes and a college career at Princeton — but her entire world is flipped upside down after the tragic accident, forcing her to adjust to a brand-new life. She’s determined to get back to the East Coast without letting anything — or anyone — distract her.

Noah LaLonde (Toby with an i, Asbury Park) joins the cast as Cole Walter, the most attractive and athletic of all the Walter boys. Like Jackie, his life also is turned upside down when a skiing injury dashes his dreams of becoming football captain and securing a college scholarship. 

Sarah Rafferty (Grey’s Anatomy) will take on the role of matriarch Dr. Katherine Walter, who was once best friends with Jackie’s mother and has been named her guardian. She’s married to George, played by Marc Blucas (Narcos: Mexico), who’s a rancher with a gruff exterior but kind heart.

Ashby Gentry will step into the role of Alex Walter, who’s the opposite of his big brother Cole, preferring Star Wars and fantasy novels to anything sports-related. Danny Walter — aka Cole’s fraternal twin — will be played by Connor Stanhope. He’s described as a theater lover who’s “thoughtful, considerate and well-read.” Will, the eldest of the Walter children played by Johnny Link, is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids. Having recently graduated from college, Will now works in real estate and is welcoming to Jackie when she arrives in town.

Corey Fogelmanis will play Nathan, who’s the musician of the Walter crew, while Dean Petriw will portray Jordan, the aspiring filmmaker with no time for family drama. Lennix James rounds out the Walter boys as Benny, the youngest of the bunch, while Alix West Lefler will play Parker, the only other girl in the house. She’s not exactly thrilled to have Jackie as her big sister.

Zoë Soul joins the cast as Haley Young, Will’s fiancée who is studying for her master’s degree, and Alisha Newton will take on the role of Erin, the most popular girl in school who has an on-and-off relationship with Cole. 

Jackie is welcomed to town by a few new friends in school: Skylar Summerhill (Jaylan Evans) and Grace (Ellie O’Brien), who “adopt” her immediately upon her arrival.

The large ensemble cast is rounded out by Ashley Holliday Tavares as Tara, the kind but overworked school counselor; Moheb Jindran as Nikhil, the English and drama teacher at Silver Falls High; Mya Lowe as Kiley, Alex’s best friend and fellow gamer; and Gabrielle Jacinto as Olivia, Erin’s well-meaning but often misguided best friend.

The series adaptation of My Life with the Walter Boys was created by Melanie Halsall, who also serves as executive producer alongside Ed Glauser of The Kissing Booth trilogy.
