Still reeling from the jaw-dropping finale of Season 3 of My Life with the Walter Boys? Life in Silver Falls takes plenty of unexpected turns this season, packing 10 episodes with romance, heartbreak, big decisions, and more than a few surprises. “I think a lot of this season — more than other seasons — is about growing up, is about maturing, is about stepping up a little bit,” says series creator Melanie Halsall. “I think that all our other characters really do that.”
These behind-the-scenes photos capture the making of a season defined by life-changing choices, hard-won growth, and the moments that transform Jackie, Cole, Alex, and the rest of the Walter family.

In Season 3, Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) throws a car wash fundraiser to raise money for her community center and wrestles with the possibility of an Ivy League future. “I think she’s a little bit conflicted about just where she wants to go in life,” says Rodriguez. “Jackie really has a lot to deal with and a lot to think about. She starts to rethink her whole life — what does she really want versus what she has been told that she wants.”

Alex (Ashby Gentry) is also navigating the next chapter — in his case, it’s all about rodeo ambitions. “Working with horses is not a science — it’s a process of feeling and a process of response. And you spend a lot of time building trust between you and the horse, communicating in a language that you don’t understand,” Gentry says of his time on set getting to know the animals. “It’s a really beautiful thing to watch — and it's an even more beautiful thing to get to do.”

Meanwhile, Cole (Noah LaLonde) finds a renewed sense of purpose in the high-octane world of drag racing. “To step back into Cole’s shoes for this season was like, ‘Wow.’ So much stuff goes down,” says LaLonde. “It's like [the whole cast] is a team. So when something goes down with one of the team members, everybody feels the weight of that.” And after years of near misses and lingering feelings, Jackie and Cole have some romantic onscreen moments. “It is the season of Jackie and Cole,” LaLonde says. “She just shows him everything that maybe he could be.”

It’s not all drama, though. As you can see in these behind-the-scenes snaps on location in Canada, the actors also made time for mountain hikes, ATV adventures, paintball battles, and plenty of laughs — creating vistas and vibes almost as unforgettable as the plot twists. “A lot of the scenes — we got to do some really cool stuff,” says LaLonde. “We climbed the rock wall up in Kananaskis. Beautiful day, very cold.” And if you’re hungering to know everything that went down in Season 3, relive all the action as the cast and creator break down the cliffhanger of an ending.
