Finding love when you’re on the spectrum isn’t just a task for the Aussies anymore. Hold your “naurrrrrs” — an American version of the docuseries/reality dating show Love on the Spectrum, exploring love, sex and relationships for singles on the autism spectrum, is coming to Netflix in 2022. As the official series synopsis reads, “Following the success of the multi-award-winning Australian series, this US-based series tells the stories of a unique and diverse cast of characters searching for something we all hope to find — love.”
In the vast sea of dating programs, Love on the Spectrum stands apart for many fans due to its warm and insightful exploration of the complexities of romance, beyond who’s hot and who’s not. It’s less gleeful spectator sport at others’ expense and more rooting for everyone to successfully navigate a landscape that is daunting — especially for those who are neurodiverse.
Love on the Spectrum is just one part of a slate of new and returning romance reality series on Netflix this year.
