Open up the pods and dust off that reveal bridge, because Love Is Blind: Japan is returning for Season 2. The hit show, where singles fall in love without ever seeing each other, won’t return until 2023, but it’s casting now for hopeful romantics to fill the pods.
“Can you nurture love only by conversation without seeing each other, then make a proposal?” asks Mitsuko Kobayashi, the executive producer and content acquisition manager of Netflix Japan. “This is a crazy idea, but we saw two couples get married from Love Is Blind: Japan, which is the proof of this miracle reality show.”
The show focuses on singles who talk to a stream of potential love interests before they get engaged, sight unseen; the couples then test out their relationship in the “real world” before their fast-approaching weddings. In Season 1, we follow the stories of a record eight couples who get engaged, including two successful marriages: Hairdresser Ryotaro falls for ad salesperson Motomi, while business planner Midori gets married to IT executive Wataru.
But if you just can’t wait until 2023, good news: More Love Is Blind is on the way. Coming this year is Season 2 of Love Is Blind: Brazil, as well as Season 3 of Love Is Blind, which this time will focus on singles in the Dallas area. Plus, the US version has been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5. Is that enough to fill your pod fix?
