In the opening moments of Episode 1, Henry told a producer what he anticipated to tap into during the live reading.

“There’s a reference to parents guiding someone’s love life through the other side,” Henry said as he approached the stage.

Then, the first guest for Live from the Other Side, Chrishell Stause, is revealed. Stause has spoken about her parents’ deaths in the past, but as moderator Amanda Kloots points out, Henry never knows who he’s going to meet before he meets them.

“I need you to know that she wasn’t afraid when she went,” Henry told an emotional Stause. 

Henry also told Stause that the messages he received from her parents were related to her love life.

“They sent someone to try to take care of you,” Henry says. “There’s this sense of them having a hand in this.”

Stause has been married to Australian drummer G Flip since 2023. 

“I knew if my parents had the chance to meet my partner, they’d love G so much,” Stause said. “G is a drummer [like my dad]. It really did feel like my parents sent G to me.” She shared that she had previously felt her mother trying to communicate that message.

Billy Porter attended Live From the Other Side by sister MaryMartha Ford, best friend Vanita Harbour, and friends Ron Pennywell and Chris Belcher. During the opening of the show, Henry asked Porter and his guests a series of questions, attempting to gather details on that would inform the connections he was sensing from beyond the veil. Belcher was the first to make an emotional connection to a lost loved one on the show.

“It’s not a goodbye,” Henry tells him, explaining what he’s picking up in the room. “It’s more of a ‘see you later.’ ”

“21 years ago, we had to take a friend to the hospital,” Belcher says. “They were going to put him up in a medically-induced coma, and [told us] they were going to wake him up in seven days. But there was no waking up … there was no goodbye.”

Later in the episode, Henry touched on details that resonated for Porter, specifically calling to his mother, Cloerinda Jean Johnson Porter-Ford, who died in early 2024. 

“We've been really missing her and grieving,” Porter tells Tudum. “I wanted to just have a connective moment and that was great.”

Porter brought his mother’s “Jesus hat” to the live taping — Henry often uses personal objects to connect with people who have passed.

“We grew up in the Pentecostal church,” Porter explained during the show. “My mom was really entrenched in the church. When I came out as gay, there was a challenge. And through the years, she did the work. She got out of her Bible, and she chose me. She chose us. She chose unconditional love, which is what Jesus and the Bible told us to do. We got to live together in that kind of harmony before she passed. She got a lot of pushback from her community for loving her gay son, and she got to see that rhetoric has no credibility through the life that I have been blessed to live.”

Later in the episode, Porter expressed his gratitude for his mother coming through Henry.
 

“So much of what sells is the negative,” Porter told  Henry. “When you’re dealing with queer people and queer stories, it becomes about the trauma. There is joy in those spaces, and there is healing in those spaces as well. My mother was the personification of what Christianity is in real time. I hope she can be an example to those who might be struggling.”

Reflecting on his experience, Porter says it reinforced something important in the wake of his mother’s passing.

“Death is not the end,” Porter says. “There’s nothing to fear from the other side.” 

During Episode 3, “Understanding,” Henry sat down with Glaser and her parents, Julie and EJ Glaser, and friends Andrew Collin and Elizabeth Cooperman. A portion of their discussion focused on Glaser’s aunt, Lynn, who Henry called out by name. Much of the conversation during Glaser’s chat was focused around her family, highlighting the complexities of family ties, shared memories, and the importance of staying connected across generations. At one of the more poignant moments of the episode, Henry seemed to make a connection with Glaser’s beloved aunt, Lynn, who passed away in 2021.

During Episode 4, “Healing,” Henry provided a reading to Jowsey, joined by  guests Fara Curry, Kristian Barbarich, Chloe Veitch (who Jowsey met on the set of Too Hot to Handle) and Carter Gregory.  Jowsey brought a guardian angel trinket gifted to him from Barbarich’s mom, as well as his personal dream journal.

“Whenever I’m feeling a little bit flat, and I want to think about the bigger picture and where I want to go in life, I  will write down the craziest dreams — it’s like a magical book, because everything always comes true,” Jowsey said in the episode. 

Henry asked Jowsey about two people close to him whose names begin with an “M.” Jowsey confirmed that his mother’s name was Melanie, and her best friend was named Meredith.

Ricki Lake attended the group reading with her husband, Ross Burningham, and her best friends Bethany Daley, John Bonnyn, and Rachael Harris. Tyler Henry was immediately surprised and delighted to meet Lake: “You are truly my Oprah,” Henry tells her.

Henry then proceeded to make a meaningful connection with each of Lake’s guests. He accurately identified Burningham’s grandmother Ethel and provided affirmation to Harris about breaking generational cycles of trauma and shame — through the use of objects and the impressions that came through.

But it was Lake’s reading that had everyone particularly stunned. After Henry held a medallion that had once belonged to Lake’s former husband who had died by suicide, Henry assured the actor and former talk show host that her late partner is at peace and was connecting with Henry with an almost “jovial” and “childlike” energy. 

“He feels that you had a lot of patience that other people didn’t always have, and that [patience] was one of the greatest gifts that you gave him,” Henry tells Lake. “I just need you to know more than anything, he comes across and there’s a lot more of a lightness than is defined by his passing … I just keep hearing, ‘I love you more.’ ”

“He would say, ‘I love you too much,’ ” Lake responds. “I have a knowing that he brought Ross to me.”

Next, Henry made a strong connection with Lake’s grandmother Sylvia, who had died relatively young from a double cancer diagnosis before Lake had become famous. It was Sylvia who had recognized her granddaughter’s potential for stardom and encouraged her to follow her dreams. 

“She brought me to theater, opera, and the ballet in New York every weekend. I remember seeing Annie when I was 6 years old and wanting to do that, and she told me, ‘You’re the best. You’re the most talented. You’re the prettiest,’ ” Lake tells Henry. “She instilled in me the I-don’t have-the-doubt gene. I think I get it from Grandma Sylvia. What you’re saying is so, so accurate.”

All of the participants expressed some relief or closure from the session, which inevitably veered into heavy and emotional territory. But Henry, who also tends to draw out moments of levity, closed the reading with a playful mention of “an opportunity to build an outdoor space [that] looks like a tree house [that I want to] take a bong hit in,” which had the group astounded and cracking up with laughter. 

As it turns out, Bonnyn is currently designing Lake and Burningham an accessory dwelling unit, a building that allows an elder care nurse to live with people when they reach their end-of-life years. “We call it ‘the Tree House’ … and we grow cannabis on the property,” Bonnyn says.

“We’re building it because we want to die on our property,” Lake explains to Henry.

“I call it ‘the Ricki Lake and Bake,’ ” one of Lake’s friends jokes.

“Whoa! You can just hot box and go to the light!” Henry adds.

Right before he stepped onto the set for the live reading, Tyler Henry turned to the camera backstage and said he was already receiving strong references to “a bend of a river and walking it, and a grandpa” — which were eventually revealed to be messages that were tied to his guest, the reality TV personality Brittany Cartwright from Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. 

Accompanying Cartwright were close friends Bradley Leake (who is also her hair stylist), Elaine Ratner, Jared Lipscomb, and Anais Cordova (who is also her makeup artist). Throughout the reading, Henry made meaningful connections to each of her friends’ loved ones who had died, whether it was helping bring Ratner closure on her mom’s passing right before the birth of her daughter, or validating Cordova’s concern about conducting an autopsy on the body of her cousin who had died unexpectedly in his sleep.

But it was the river imagery and the grandpa figure that Henry had so clearly envisioned before coming face-to-face with Cartwright that strongly anchored the group’s reading.

“If I say that somebody remembers walking around the bend of a river … I think that a guy taught a girl how to fish … does any of that make sense?” Henry asks Cartwright. He also included memories of a “nature area where one would walk and find arrowheads or old Native American things.”

“Our farm ends at a river, the Kentucky River to be exact, and we have arrowheads, everything, and of course our Pappaw taught us everything,” Cartwright responds, baffled. 

The intense connection to Cartwright’s beloved late grandfather didn’t stop there. Cartwright had brought a unique object to the reading for Henry to hold — it appeared to be an extremely bare-bones wooden birdhouse-like structure — but, at Henry’s request, she didn’t go into any further detail about it and let Henry glean whatever energy he felt. Henry then brought up tobacco as a “funny memory” and asked if that rang any bells for Cartwright.

“My Pappaw was a tobacco farmer!” Cartwright exclaims. “These are tobacco sticks that my mom made into a lantern that are from my Pappaw’s farm. Oh my gosh. This [lantern] was the only thing I really had in LA to bring my Pappaw here. It used to be a full working tobacco farm and now it’s not anymore since he’s passed.” 

“My Pappaw was literally the best man I’ve ever met in my entire life and I’ve always wondered if he was proud of me,” Cartwright continues.

Before the live reading wrapped, Henry also acknowledged a few potential health concerns related to Cartwright’s mom and stressed that any recurring issues should be promptly addressed, to which Cartwright recounted a previous health scare her mom had faced a few years ago.

But, in all, Cartwright’s strong ties to her family and her Kentucky roots shined through, and she appeared to be deeply comforted by Henry’s visions of her humble upbringing. “My Pappaw was born in the house that my mom lives in right now, and my whole family — all three of my aunts and my uncle — are next-door neighbors on that big property of land that ends at the river,” Cartwright says. “I love it.”

In Episode 7, “Hope,” clairvoyant Tyler Henry sat down with the former NFL star Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski, his partner Camille Kostek, his brother Dan and his wife Brittany, and friend Zoe Bucuvalas. The group brought a few objects to help Henry connect with their loved ones who had passed, including sports-related memorabilia like a jersey and a Red Sox hat.

Henry immediately connected with Rob’s close friend, Dana, who died many years earlier. During the episode, Kostek said she believes Dana wasresponsible for bringing the couple back together after an initial breakup. “It was Rob's first funeral and we went together. It didn't matter why we separated; we came together for this unconditional love that we had for Dana and for each other,” Kostek says. “Dana's a huge part of our relationship.”

In Episode 8, “Redemption,” clairvoyant Tyler Henry sat down with the actress and Broadway legend Kristin Chenoweth and her guests Shannon Mackay (her assistant), Melody Young (her business manager), Genna Geibelson (Young’s daughter), and Jonathan Hanousek (her hairstylist and long-time friend). Chenoweth’s makeup artist Jill Cady also made a surprise sit-down after Henry received strong impressions coming from Cady, who was backstage.

During the reading, Henry identified Chenoweth’s two mother figures — her biological mother, who died in 2024, and her second mother, who is living but currently dealing with health issues. He assured Chenoweth that her biological mother is “watching over her [living mother] like a hawk.”

In Episode 9, “Validation,” clairvoyant Tyler Henry sat down with the reality TV star, attorney, and author Phaedra Parks. Like Henry, Parks revealed that she shares a unique relationship to the afterlife through her work as a funeral director and mortician. Also invited to the reading were Parks’s close friends Genard Keith (her cousin), Adriane Schwartz, Stephanie Covington Armstrong, and Adrienne Nettles Huddleston.

Immediately, Henry noticed that someone had brought in a Bible as their object — it was Armstrong’s sister’s book — to which Henry pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket with the date and the word “Bible” scribbled on it. He tells Armstrong that when he receives such strong impressions like that, it means that the person who’s connected to the object “wanted to be the first person to come through today and you need to know off the bat it’s a validation of that.”

During an emotional part of the reading that involved both Parks and Keith, Henry correctly identified the untimely passing of Keith’s son, who died at 22. He was brain-dead and Keith had to make the difficult decision to pull the plug after a brief moment of seeing his son “basically passing, coming back, and then passing.” 

“The way this comes through … ‘If I do come back very briefly, I feel like I can make my final transition,’ ” Henry says of his reading of the situation. 

Henry also mentions a strong impression of a makeup artist who specializes in doing makeup for people who have passed away, and tells the group that he’s seeing an occupational connection to Keith’s son. “Check and see if work got a little too personal or if I’m trying to think, ‘Something was done to a body,’ but then I’m taking on a professional role,” Henry says. As it turns out, Parks took on the complicated task of funeral directing for her cousin’s son passing.

But Henry brings up hope during these painful memories as well, through recurring images of birds, which Keith believes is a sign. “When [these motifs] come through, often symbolically, it’s a way to let us know that they’re with us during really good times and sometimes really tough times. These symbols can kind of act as a prerequisite to events that are about to happen,” Henry assures. “So when you see that, there’s that sense of I know you’ve made this connection. I need to highlight him as being significant when we talk about him.” 

In Episode 10, “Kinship,” clairvoyant Tyler Henry sat down with actress Francia Raisa, her sisters Italia Almendarez and Irlanda Hillair, her brother-in-law Elias Hillair, and her longtime friend Ryan Amanda Winfrey. Before Henry met his guests, he told host Amanda Kloots backstage that he was receiving strong impressions from Spanish-speaking spirits. (Raisa is of Mexican and Honduran descent.)

One of the first messages Henry relayed to Raisa was a “sister figure” who had passed from breast cancer. “There's going to be an opportunity for activism in that field that almost feels divinely inspired … that’s the individual's way of saying, ‘Carry my legacy,’” Henry tells Raisa. He also brought up this person’s memory of “a bucket list of places I want to visit,” which included a trip to New York City before she passed. 

Raisa confirmed she had invited her late friend — someone she had known since childhood — along on one of Raisa’s work trips to Manhattan a few years ago. They had visited Late Night with Seth Meyers (when Raisa was a guest), saw a bunch of Broadway productions, and ate at fancy restaurants. Raisa shared that her friend had died in August, after battling breast cancer for seven years. Henry tells Raisa of a “passing of a torch” image that comes through, and says, “I would encourage you to see, since her passing, if anyone has decided, ‘I'm going to finish the trip that she wasn't able to make.’” 

Henry later on brings up a few symbols and images, like a butterfly and chili pepper, that are seemingly tied to familial and creative legacies. As it turns out, one of Raisa’s entrepreneurial pursuits is creating a spicy salsa line that honors her late grandmother. Raisa’s sisters, who tell Henry that their family has a “pop star past life,” confirm their grandmother had performed a song called “Mariposa,” which means butterfly in Spanish.

Before the session closed out, Henry told Raisa that he felt a strong energy surrounding her writing a book. “There's an aspect of clearing air, communicating concisely, and putting things on the record,” he says. Raisa responds by saying she’s, in fact, working on a manuscript and that she sees the process as a “reset” for herself. “The cooking, the spiciness, all of that — we love to see it,” Raisa says.

In Episode 11, “Truth,” clairvoyant Tyler Henry sat down with actor and podcast host Rachel Bilson. Alongside were close friends Olivia Allen (who’s also Bilson’s co-host; they have a show called Broad Ideas) and fashion designers Emily Current and Meritt Elliott (Current and Elliott are also business partners). Henry connected with his guests’ loved ones who have passed, from Allen’s beloved father who died from a gunshot wound when Allen was 15 to Elliott’s late husband who battled cancer and died at 32.

Immediately, Henry was drawn to Bilson’s matriarchal energy, which he describes as “an indication that a female would’ve divinely guided a child into a person’s life and let them be introduced on a much larger scale.” He says that her mother’s side of the family hits strongly. (Her father’s side not so much, to which Bilson responds, “That makes sense.”) Henry says that a grandmother figure, on her deathbed, joked that she couldn’t believe she was going to die before her spouse and that he’d be helpless without her. Bilson recounts that memory as “100% accurate” and recalls that her grandmother said, “ ‘He’s going to starve to death if I’m gone,’ and she literally threw a potato at him right before she died. She was like, ‘Feed yourself.’ ”

Digging deeper into Bilson’s family legacy and dynamics, Henry also assured her that as a mother of a daughter herself, Bilson shouldn’t feel as though she’s stuck and that meaningful change is already happening in the way she’s raising her child. Based on Bilson’s “empowering feminine energy, [your ancestors] want me to tell you that you have done [things to] ensure that [your daughter] doesn’t repeat certain cycles that perhaps generationally have happened in the past,” Henry tells her.

He also acknowledged that there are “certain susceptibilities both within you and perhaps within your daughter to notice spirits,”  which Bilson validates by saying intuition has long been occurring in her mother’s lineage. “My daughter just had a conversation with me about how she’s having these clairvoyant [impressions],” she says. When Bilson mentions that her daughter recently turned 10, Henry says his first memory of communicating with the afterlife also happened when he was 10 when his grandmother passed. “I had a premonition of her death, and that kind of kicked everything off,” he says.

After Henry shares comforting validations and memories with his other guests, he has parting words that drive home what he feels is his purpose on earth. “What I’ve really learned in this work is that it’s so much more than communicating with people who’ve passed. It seems to reflect some link with consciousness,” he tells the group. “There’s great power in carrying their torch. You all have done that in such beautiful ways, and I’m so thankful for you all being here today.”

In Episode 12, “Closure,” clairvoyant Tyler Henry sat down with singer-songwriter LeAnn Rimes and her close friends Rendee Hahnfeld, Christinna Oldham, jewelry designer Roger Canevari, and fitness trainer Ali Shields. Rimes considers Hahnfeld and Oldham, who are biological sisters, as her own sisters because they’ve all been close their entire lives.

Upon holding a Santa Claus figurine, Henry receives an impression of a “jolly” Santa Claus–type man who turns out to be Rimes’ stepdad who passed away last October. (Before he died, he dressed up as Santa Claus for Rimes’ stepsons.) Henry also identified that her stepdad had vision issues due to being diabetic.

Next, a maternal figure — someone who provided generational support for nonbiological family bonds — is highlighted. Rimes identifies this person as her godmother, whom she describes as “the queen of our lives.” Later on, Henry takes it a step further to make a connection with Rimes’ late godfather, who was married to Rimes’ godmother. “He was like my dad, and he died when was 15,” Rimes tells Henry. “I was touring at the time, and I told him that I would come see him the next day, and he passed away that morning. He was the best. He was such a good guy.” 

Regarding Rimes’ godparents, Henry mentions “opportunities for stage performance more akin to something related to a Broadway show situation.” Rimes confirms that her godparents “were very much a big part of raising me, and they took me to Broadway when I was 6, 7.” 

Rimes then elaborates that the reason she’s so close with the two sisters is because all of their parents had also been best friends since they were in the ninth grade. Rimes’ beloved godparents also used to work for the sisters’ parents. “That’s how we all became a family — not by blood, but we’re very much a family,” she says. 

When Henry makes a connection to the sisters’ late mother, who died of ALS, he mentions an “emphasis on genetic testing.” The sisters — who say they’ve resisted getting tested, especially since there’s no cure for ALS — are strongly encouraged to do so. “Knowledge is power and can be a helpful thing, but equally, for what it’s worth, I’m not concerned,” Henry says of their current health.

After they thank Henry for providing some levity in the heavy situation, Henry assures the group that his readings “[aren’t] necessarily a resolution to grief, but they help us know,” he says. “They give us that sense of validation that there’s still some connection and bond that exists and that [our passed loved ones are] still involved in our lives.”
