Kevin Hart, Miami, youth, and chaos aren’t just a random assortment of words. They’re the key ingredients of the upcoming comedy 72 Hours, directed by Tim Story (Barbershop, Think Like a Man, Ride Along).
Premiering July 24 on Netflix, the film follows a 40-year-old executive (played by Hart) who hopes to save his floundering career by joining a group of twentysomethings on a wild three-day bachelor party, after he’s inadvertently added to their group text.
Viewers can look forward to “a really good time,” says Story. “Kevin [and] the crew — Marcello [Hernández], Mason [Gooding], Ben [Marshall], and Kam [Patterson]— are a dynamic team that you just cannot miss.”
If the new trailer is any indication, this crew is in for an unforgettable three days. The above video lays out the outlandish events ahead, including comedic run-ins with the law; a party on a yacht full of bikini-clad guests; a party bus ride through South Beach that goes, well, south; drugs; the cartel; more drugs; and even an unfortunate encounter with a jellyfish which leaves Hart’s character with more than just cauliflower ear — his entire face is swollen.
And with an ensemble of rising young comedians alongside Hart, you can expect plenty of humorous jabs aimed at Hart throughout the film. “You look like an unsuccessful swinger,” Marcello Hernández (Saturday Night Live, Happy Gilmore 2) quips in the above sneak peek.

Hart leads the cast alongside Mason Gooding (Scream 7, Y2K, Love, Victor); SNL standouts Hernández, Ben Marshall (Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain), and Kam Patterson; and Zach Cherry (Severance, Fallout, You). Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another, Straw) and Andy Garcia (Landman, Ocean’s Eleven) are also set to appear.
Story, who previously collaborated with Hart on such films as Ride Along and Ride Along 2, 2013’s Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, and Think Like a Man, calls Hart “unquestionably the greatest comedic partner that I’ve worked with in my career.”
Story was also struck by how well co-stars Hernández, Gooding, Marshall, and Patterson “created this sense of friendship,” noting that “it was so impressive that I actually forgot most of them just met each other on this film.”
Writing duo Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows (The Pickup, Gentlemen Lobsters) penned the script with collaborative duo Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Cobra Kai, Obliterated).
Plus, Hart and Story produced the film alongside John Davis, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, Josh Heald, Luke Kelly-Clyne, Bryan Smiley, and Will Packer.
Pack your bags: 72 Hours will stream July 24, only on Netflix.
