On the morning of her wedding to Pablo (Carvajal), the love of her life who left the priesthood to be with her, political campaign manager Alicia Fernandez’s (Orozco) car gets towed as she’s picking up her wedding dress — a fitting beginning for a day bound to end in disaster. Calling her best friend Susana (Camelo), Alicia sprints towards her wedding, ignoring every ill omen along the way — including a call from her boss demanding she skip her honeymoon and return to the campaign trail. There’s a bigger disaster looming, because all the white lies she’s told Pablo about who she is — a flight attendant who skips in and out of Bogotá — are building up. In an emotional breakdown just before she walks down the aisle, Alicia asks her best friend if she’s doing the right thing, and Susana points out that very few women have been able to balance not one, but two marriages. That’s right, on the day of her wedding to Pablo, Alicia’s missing out on her husband of five years, Alejo’s (Brown) new book launch. As she watches a live stream of the event in her wedding dress and hears the wonderful toast Alejo pays her, she’s moved to tears and reveals to Susana that she’s not torn: Alicia loves Alejo, the life they’ve built together, and doesn’t want to leave him; but she loves Pablo too, and knew from the moment they met that they’d get married. How long can Alicia manage to maintain her web of lies — with both husbands — before her double life comes crashing down?

No, Just Alice is not based on a book. It’s an original series.
