Netflix subscribers, get ready: You’re invited to sit down with Jay Shetty.
Shetty, Netflix, and Spotify are partnering to expand Shetty’s globally popular podcast On Purpose into video across both services beginning July 13. “This is a historic moment, not just for On Purpose but for podcasting itself,” says Shetty. “We’re entering a new era where interviews can impact culture as powerfully as movies, music, and television on the global stage.”
In each episode of On Purpose, host Jay Shetty, a bestselling author and former monk, talks with influential voices about culture, wellness, and personal growth. As part of the new partnership, Netflix will soon bring the visual series to its members worldwide. “It is truly a dream come true to be partnering with Netflix and Spotify at the same time. I would never have believed when I started the podcast just seven years ago this would happen. To be in business with two of the most influential forces in global entertainment is unprecedented, and I couldn’t be more energized for what’s ahead.”
Featuring Shetty’s in-depth conversations with extraordinary guests like Michelle Obama and experts like Mel Robbins, On Purpose has topped the charts as one of the world’s leading podcasts. It’s garnered over 1 billion listens to date since its launch seven years ago. Starting in July, fans can stream these impactful discussions right on Netflix. “Jay Shetty has an extraordinary ability to spark deep, meaningful connections that resonate with millions around the world,” says Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy. “By joining forces with Spotify, we’re giving On Purpose an expansive new canvas, bringing these visually captivating interviews to our members’ screens with unmissable episodes to look forward to every single week.”
Netflix and Spotify first announced a wide-ranging podcast deal last year, and since then, the platforms have begun offering video episodes of sports, pop culture, and true crime podcasts like The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Rewatchables, Conspiracy Theories, and more. In addition to existing fan favorites, Netflix has also rolled out its own offerings, including The Pete Davidson Show, The White House with Michael Irvin, and Skip Intro, as well as official companion podcasts for popular Netflix titles like Bridgerton and ONE PIECE.
