Are you ready to head back to Firefly Lane? The second season of the friendship saga between Tully Hart (Katherine Heigl) and Kate Mularkey (Sarah Chalke) will premiere on Netflix on Dec. 2, and you can catch your first glimpse of the duo — and their younger counterparts — below.

Unfolding over three decades, Firefly Lane tracks the ups and downs between the two best friends as they navigate high school, the workforce, love and family drama. Ali Skovbye and Roan Curtis reprise their roles as young Tully and young Kate in flashbacks to the pair’s teenage years in the 1970s — just look at that knitwear!

If bigger, better ’80s hair is more your thing, rest assured there will be plenty of that as Kate and Tully navigate the KPOC newsroom together. Also joining this season’s cast are Firefly newcomers India de Beaufort (Charlotte), Greg Germann (Benedict), Jolene Purdy (Justine), and Ignacio Serricchio (Danny) — all sure to bring the drama (and hopefully the fashion).

When we last left Tully and Kate at the end of Season 1, the pair were at an emotional crossroads. With her talk show The Girlfriend Hour officially canceled, Tully looks to new career opportunities, and who better than Kate to act as her producer? What Kate doesn’t yet know is that her ex-husband Johnny (Ben Lawson) has been injured while working as a journalist in Iraq. Kate and Tully end the season celebrating their new partnership on the former’s porch as the phone rings ominously inside.
But the biggest mystery in the first season centered around Kate and Tully’s falling out. Throughout the 10-episode arc, scenes from a mysterious funeral hinted at chilly feelings between the two women. While the finale reveals who it was that died, we’re still left guessing about what drove the pair apart. December can’t come soon enough!
Tune in to Part 1 of the new season on Dec. 2, and Part 2 in 2023.
