An up-and-coming drug dealer Ferry Bouman (Frank Lammers) is in dire need of money. So when a big-time drug lord gets arrested, he swoops in to fill the vacancy. As he keeps his criminal dealings a secret from his girlfriend, Danielle (Elise Schaap), Ferry must fend off the drug lord whose territory he’s trying to overtake. A prequel to the series Undercover and a sequel to the film Ferry, Ferry: The Series shows one man’s rise to notoriety within the Netherlands’ criminal underworld.

Directed by Undercover directors Eshref Reybrouck and Joël Vanhoebrouck, the series was penned by Undercover writers Nico Moolenaar, Bart Uytdenhouwen, Piet Matthys, and Tibbe van Hoof. Moolenaar and Uytdenhouwen also co-wrote the film Ferry.

I’m not caught up. What happens in the movie Ferry

Drug lord Ralph Brink, Ferry’s boss, sends his trusted hitman to Brabant to find and kill the people who injured his son Mattijs in an attack on one of his safe houses. Meanwhile, Ferry falls in love with Daan, whose brother Lars was the driver in the attack. Ferry ends up killing Brink and fleeing Amsterdam with Daan and Lars. In a post-credits scene, Ferry strolls into a warehouse where Lars and his friends are cooking ecstasy. Looks like Ferry is starting a drug business of his own.

What happens in Ferry: The Series?

Ferry has a cookshop where his pals make ecstasy, but he’s struggling to distribute his goods. He meets Jurgen, who’s looking to buy a ton of pills and has some ideas for taking the business big. Unfortunately, the police show up and thwart the deal. Ferry and Jurgen both walk away unscathed, but now Ferry’s desperate for cash — his soon-to-be wife, Daan, is pregnant, and they have a house to pay off. But there’s a promising opening in the drug world: Kingpin Arie Tack has just been arrested in a drug bust, and 1 million ecstasy pills have been seized. Seeing an opportunity, Ferry tracks down Jurgen, and together they connect with a motorcycle gang called Pusaka that transports Arie’s drugs for him. They meet with Pusaka’s leader, Ricardo, but the discussion quickly goes south — Ricardo has them thrown out and keeps Ferry’s pills. But Pusaka’s president, Mick, later offers Ferry a deal: Cook 1 million pills to help the gang make up for the seized drugs. It’s good timing, but not good enough — Arie’s been released on house arrest, and he’s none too happy someone swooped in to take over his territory.
