Class is almost back in session at Alfea College, and there’s even more magic and romance on the agenda. The trailer for Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 is here, and it looks like no one’s holding back their powers. The fairies might’ve defeated the Burned Ones last season, but the threats are far from over. As Abigail Cowen teased to Netflix last month, “Season 2, I feel like it’s just a whirlwind of emotion and adventure. We have new villains, we have new additions to the school, we have Flora — who is Terra’s cousin.”
Played by Paulina Chávez, earth fairy Flora will be joining the club with her nature-based powers. “I think that Flora in our show will be a fan favorite. Paulina is so, so lovely and so amazing,” showrunner Brian Young tells Tudum. “We felt like [Flora] was a missing piece in the show, somebody who can come into the group and can shake them up.” Given that there are new monsters to fight, the Winx gang will need all the powers they can get.

As the romance between Bloom (Cowen) and Sky (Danny Griffin) heats up in the trailer, we also meet new faces like Grey (Brandon Grace), Sebastian (Éanna Hardwicke) and Miranda Richardson as Rosalind. “One of my favorite things about working on this show is working with these classically trained, legendary actresses,” Young says. “To have Miranda come in and have such an amazing work ethic, to think about the character, to think about the scenes, to have such a great point of view — it was a dream.”
It’s clear that the stakes are higher than ever before at Alfea. Now that the fairies have fully tapped into their abilities, who knows what magic they’ll unleash. You won’t have to wait too much longer to be reunited with them because Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 premieres Sept. 16.
