Host Anthony Anderson kicked off the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards on Jan. 15 — with the comedic support of his mom, Doris Hancox — crowning the best TV of the 2022–2023 season. Netflix earned nominations across 34 titles, and won a total of 22 awards, including big sweeps for Queer Eye and BEEF. In fact, the Fab 5 hold the record for the most Outstanding Structured Program Emmys with their sixth consecutive win. After winning three Golden Globes, BEEF continued to sweep the awards circuit, nabbing awards for eight of its 13 Emmy nominations. And it was another big night for Ali Wong, who became the first woman of Asian descent to win an Emmy in a lead actress race.

While many great acceptance speeches kept the night lively, Niecy Nash-Betts, who won best supporting actress in the limited series category for her portrayal of Glenda Cleveland in DAHMER, acknowledged a truly special woman: “I wanna thank me — for believing in me, and doing what they said I could not do.”
