A definitive new documentary about one of the most celebrated athletes of the past four decades is coming to Netflix on Dec. 22. Elway traces the extraordinary life and career of Pro Football Hall of Famer John Elway, a quarterback whose combination of physical talent, competitive fire, and high-drama victories helped define modern football.
Elway will explore the athlete’s multifaceted life, from his early days being drafted to play baseball by the New York Yankees to his iconic moments in college football history. It will also recount his many victories, including his two Super Bowl wins as a player and a third as an executive, all with the Denver Broncos.

“John Elway’s career isn’t just iconic — it’s darn near mythological,” director Ken Rodgers told Netflix. “His physical abilities, mental toughness, and raw determination are the stuff of legend.”
Elway is directed by Rodgers and Chris Weaver, with executive producers Peyton Manning, Ross Ketover, Keith Cossrow, Jessica Boddy, Jamie Horowitz, Jesse Sisgold, Jason T. Reed, and Jon Weinbach. Dan Marks serves as co-executive producer. Producers include Rodgers, Weaver, Kent Kubena, Terry Leonard, Angus Wall, and Sean Rodgers, with associate producers Zach Chester, Liam Gany, and Chris Williams.
The documentary premieres on Netflix on Dec. 22.
