The set of the Selling Sunset reunion — like pretty much all of the Selling Sunset properties — is immaculate. A staged property, complete with furniture and light fixtures, overlooks a spacious backyard filled with plants and a water feature, of course. On the deck, the agents of The O Group occupy white fuzzy couches that flank the gray host seat, where Queer Eye fashionista-turned-host Tan France presides. As the agents reminisce and rehash the most recent season of Selling Sunset over an hour and a half, the cameras don't capture the live studio audience.
The audience — which includes Tarek El Moussa, Heather’s famous husband and the focus of a segment during the show — is privy to all the behind-the-scenes moments that don’t make the cut. There is talk of the Oppenheims’ infamous wine line, which has its haters among the cast — Maya isn’t a fan of the red, while Chrishell doesn’t like the white. Brett tries to fight for its reputation, calling it “not that bad.” (Not the strongest endorsement.) Laughs from the audience bubble up when Tan mentions Emma’s empanada line, which she says is now officially sold in Costco stores. The Queer Eye star doesn’t miss the opportunity to campaign for his own “Tanpanada” flavor.
But behind the scenes of the reunion, the emotions are more than real. Chrishell shakes her head and looks away while watching clips of her relationship with Jason. She hopes she and Jason can, one day, become friends like he is with ex-girlfriend Mary but acknowledges it’s a little more difficult when they’ve shared their relationship with the world. Tan even asks the audience who they think Chrishell’s next partner should be, though it’s now clear who that actually is.
Crazier still are the big moments that did make the cut. The twins confirm that Christine is no longer employed at the Oppenheim Group, Jason gets emotional about his breakup with Chrishell, and Chrishell spills all the tea about her new relationship.
The Selling Sunset reunion is now streaming.
