Bake Squad is back, and it’s making a few special someones’ chocolatey, ganache-filled, sprinkle-topped dreams come true. Host Christina Tosi (founder of the bakery franchise Milk Bar) is back, as is her troupe of decadent-dessert experts. This season, the bakers are creating s’more-filled balloons, edible trophy cases, volcano cakes and pounds upon pounds of chocolate sculptures — all made to order for a handful of lucky clients.
The second season drops Jan. 20.
Check it out below.
Christina welcomes back her four favorite bakers for Season 2: cake decorator Ashley Holt, pastry chef Christophe Rull, pastry chef Maya-Camille Broussard and chocolatier Gonzo Jimenez. To read more about the host and bakers, check out this guide.
This season, the squad competes for the chance to serve sweets at several special events, including a bar mitzvah, a joint 75th birthday and a party honoring the founder of LGBTQ+ sports organization Varsity Gay League. After learning who these bakes will help celebrate, the bakers have just one day to plan and create personalized desserts in hopes of getting chosen to cater each event. In the end, it’s up to the client to pick which creation fits best at their fete. Like in Season 1, there are no eliminations or one big winner at the end — the only prize is the chance to make someone’s day (and, perhaps, to boast about it to their fellow bakers).
