Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is the latest K-drama from director Chang Tae-yoo (My Love from the Star). Chef Yeon Ji-young, played by Korea’s rom-com queen, Lim Yoon-a (King the Land, Big Mouth), has just won a major culinary competition. But as the classically trained French chef dreams about the Michelin stars she’s about to rake in, all her future plans come tumbling down. She finds an old recipe book that sends her hurtling back in time to the Joseon era, where she quickly catches the eye — and taste buds — of the temperamental King Yi Heon (Lee Chae-min) after cooking him a meal. This earns her the new job as his chef. The only catch? If Ji-young ever serves him the same dish twice, it’ll be off with her head. To make it back to her own future, Ji-young must navigate the ruthless court politics of a palace ruled by the tyrant king with an impeccable palate.
