Netflix’s critically acclaimed sports documentary series Untold has quickly added one of the most viral stories of 2026 to its roster of upcoming films.
Ahead of the NFL season, Daejon Love was arrested for wire fraud after a group of women came forward claiming he had posed as a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers — among other identities — to scam them out of millions of dollars.
Told firsthand by Love’s victims, Untold: Wide Deceiver will unpack the internet nickname and the far darker story it exposed.
After Love was arrested, a flurry of social media content of him pretending to be an NFL player made the rounds across the sports landscape, further heightening his deception.
Untold recently launched a trio of new documentaries, featuring University of Texas football legend Vince Young, 2024 Olympic breakdancing sensation Rachael “Raygun” Gunn, and cultural icon Mr. T.
Untold: Wide Deceiver is produced by Propagate and Stardust Frames in association with North of Now and The Cut. Executive producers of the documentary include Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Maclain Way, Chapman Way, Ryan Duffy, Isabel San Vargas, Aaron Ginsburg, William Green, Andrew Renzi, and Nick Boak.

The Untold series of sports documentary films has chronicled some of the wildest stories from the last two decades, including the murder of former NFL great Steve McNair, the epic 2004 “Malice at the Palace” brawl between the NBA’s Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers, Jake Paul’s unlikely transition from controversial internet personality to polarizing boxing star, and more.
Ahead of the summer of soccer, Untold traveled to the UK to pull back the curtain on the dramatic world of English football, featuring documentaries on unlikely Premier League legend Jamie Vardy, Liverpool’s miraculous 2005 Champions League–winning team, and controversial professional player turned actor Vinnie Jones.
