David Letterman’s next guest certainly needs no introduction: The iconic talk show host and comedian is sitting down with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Elected to office in 2019, the former comedian vaulted onto the world stage in February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine and prompted an escalation of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Zelenskyy’s leadership during the conflict has inspired international praise. 

And the president is in good company: On Letterman’s Emmy-nominated Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, the former Late Show host has interviewed figures ranging from Barack Obama and Palestinian activist Malala Yousafzi to Jay-Z and Robert Downey Jr. Letterman traveled to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv to interview Zelenskyy, who has refused to leave even as Russian forces target the city.

Letterman’s interview with Zelenskyy will premiere later this year.
