You may recognize Jorge López as Valerio, the rapscallion of an older half-brother to Lu (Danna Paola), on Seasons 2 and 3 of Netflix’s Elite. But this summer, things are heating up as Lopez moves from Spain to Brazil as Diego, a veteran staffer of Hotel Maresia and soon-to-be lifeguard on Netflix’s new series, Summer Heat/Temporada de Verão.

While Diego may be a tad more on the straight and narrow than the devilish Valerio, both are trying to move on from the demons of their pasts... and certainly know how to emerge from a pool, if you catch my wave. FAVORITE PLACE Cheesy to say, but, honestly, Hotel Maresia. It’s where I’ve found peace after losing my brother, Danilo. It’s been a hard few years, but I always wear his necklace to keep him close to me, and my coworkers are like family.

WORST DATE EVER I spontaneously bought one-way tickets to Chile for myself and someone I thought was the love of my life, only to find out she’d been lying to my face the entire time we were together. I was crushed, por decir lo menos.
