Top Boy is returning for a third and final season that vows to leave “no loose ends.” As Dushane (Ashley Walters) and Sully (Kane Robinson) wrap a story that originated in 2011’s Top Boy: Summerhouse, a number of other characters will also be closing chapters of their own.
“With something as great as this, you should end on a high, and that’s what we’re doing,” Walters told Tudum in 2022. “We want to end it properly. We answer some deep questions about the characters and what has actually motivated them from the beginning and how much they love each other, or not, just bringing all those unanswered questions to a close.”
While we wait for the ultimate answers to those long-standing questions, let’s take a look at who’ll be back for the epic last installment — and what new faces will be welcomed into the fold.

Dushane is smart, resourceful, and (sometimes) kind at heart, but it seems that the backstabbing and violence that come with leading a drug empire summon his ruthless side. He has a soft spot for family, and he’s shown a willingness to build bridges instead of burning them, for instance by bringing Jaime (Micheal Ward) into the mix. However, when he finds out about Sully’s actions at the conclusion of Season 2, we can only imagine which version of Dushane we see.
Bulletproof, Safe House, Doctor Who, Inside Men, Outcasts, and Speed Racer.

Never one to shy away from conflict or violence, Sully is as tough as they come. When he sets his mind on something, like confronting Khadeem (Khali Best) and Cypress (Michael Balogun) in their own gym or not trusting Jamie throughout Season 2, he’s not likely to be swayed.
While his relentlessness makes him a natural leader, that determination can show itself in an unwillingness to compromise. Sully is big on trust and loyalty, and once it’s been violated, there’s no going back.
Top Boy: Summerhouse

Simbiatu Ajikawo as Shelley and Ashley Walters as Dushane.
Ambitious and hardworking, Shelley went from caring for Dushane’s mother to building a romantic relationship with him. And much like Dushane, Shelley has lofty personal goals, but her calm personality is vastly different — and a perfect complement.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage, The Power, Youngers, and Spirit Warriors

High on the Summerhouse chain of command, Jaq has earned Dushane and Sully’s trust. She has a soft spot for family, particularly her cousin Lauryn, who puts her in some sticky situations, and her romantic interest Becks, who helps her protect Lauryn.
Jobson’s looking forward to the “bittersweet” final season and called closing the chapter “a beautiful thing.” In conversation with Tudum last year, she spoke about the reality of situations similar to the ones the characters of Top Boy endure. “Everything has to come to an end if you’re in this lifestyle, you cannot continue this for very long. It will come to death or prison or heartbreak either way.”
Lie Low, Obey, Five by Five, The Idris Takeover, and The Break

Once a carefree boy who enjoyed playing video games and hanging out with his brothers, loss has made Stefan grow up fast. He teeters precariously between being a normal teen and becoming a product of his violent, vengeful environment.
Heartstopper

Formerly imprisoned, Mandy has dealt with her share of trauma, but she’s a loyal friend to Shelley and has leadership skills that are about to be tested.

Though not ill intentioned, Jaq’s sister Lauryn seems to be a magnet for dicey situations. Already forced to leave London, a new set of circumstances have her in yet another bind.
Riches, Moon Knight, London Kills, and White Gold

A sly, menacing member of an Irish gang’s empire who hands out ultimatums and whose actions back his words.
The Banshees of Inisherin, The Batman, Eternals, The Green Knight, Chernobyl, and Dunkirk

Ashley Walters as Dushane and Shaun Dingwall as Jeffrey.
A big player in the drug game and husband to Lizzie (Lisa Dwan), Jeffrey has big plans, though unlike his colleague Dushane, he prefers to lay low and avoid conflict.
The Driver, Doctor Who, Goodbye Christopher Robin, Noughts + Crosses, DCI Banks, and Legends

Though he deals drugs for Summerhouse and will do whatever is needed for the gang, Kieron’s top priority is caring for his mother.
Kieron’s story will be prominent in the final season, and Blissett finds the conclusion of the series to be “exciting” but “sad.” He told Tudum last year, “We as a whole team, every department, [we’ve] come so far, and it started from those two [Dushane and Sully in Top Boy: Summerhouse] to now. They were so young when they started. They look like babies, and now they’ve given the opportunity to other babies like myself, Jasmine, Michael Ward. Even though it’s sad, it’s such a happy thing because it opens so many new doors.”
Pretty Red Dress, Young Wallander, Blue Story, and Obey

Loyal and caring, Becks has been a pillar of strength for Jaq. She stuck with her after the two endured a physical attack and invited Jaq’s sister, Lauryn, into her home when she was in need of refuge.
Willow and Ghost in the Shell

Dris’ daughter Erin takes a liking to Stefan — and becomes intertwined with him as his life veers off course.

A loyal member of the Fields gang, Si has a protective streak and looks out for Stefan after his life-altering loss.
