‘The Upshaws’ Season 2 Release Date Announced - Netflix Tudum
The Upshaws are on their way back up to your TV screen. The family comedy will return for Part 1 of Season 2 on Wednesday, June 29 . The premiere date for Part 2 is still top secret.
The series, led by Mike Epps as patriarch Bennie Upshaw, follows its titular working class family through their lives in Indianapolis. Sitcom icon Kim Fields plays Bennie’s wife Regina and Insecure’s Gabrielle Dennis portrays his ex, Tasha. In Season 2, Bennie will continue to have to contend with raising his children with both women, while under the watchful eye of sardonic sister-in-law Lucretia (co-creator Wanda Sykes). Lucretia is very rarely impressed. Expect new romances, the ghosts of loves past and big ambition in Season 2, which will run for eight half-hour episodes.
Ahead of Season 2, The Upshaws released the first 12 photos from the upcoming episodes. One image shows Bennie, Tasha and their two daughters (Khali Spraggins and Journey Christine) happily singing in their kitchen. Grab a chair, because you’re going to want to have a seat at this table, come Season 2.
