Two former best friends who had a bad falling out over their first love are reunited when the woman they fought over dies in suspicious circumstances. Despite the ex-pals’ insurmountable differences — one grew up to become a cop and the other became a mercenary — they must join forces to save the woman’s teenage daughter, who herself is out to avenge her mother’s death. From the producers of the Lost Bullet franchise, The Orphans is an action-adventure from director Olivier Schneider (GTMax), who previously worked as a stunt coordinator on films like Spectre and Fast X. The film stars Alban Lenoir, Dali Benssalah, Sonia Faidi, and Suzanne Clément.

Gabriel (Lenoir), a surly police officer, hasn’t thought about his first love, Sofia (Ayadi), or his ex-best friend, Driss (Benssalah), in 18 years. That all changes when the caretaker of the orphanage in which all three grew up reaches out to Gabriel with bad news: Sofia’s been in a horrific car crash, and doctors aren’t sure if she’ll survive. Gabriel rushes to the hospital only to run into Driss, now a smooth-talking mercenary with criminal connections. The two haven’t spoken since they were in the orphanage, where they both competed for Sofia’s affection. Now, as adults, they’re complete opposites.
But the two are forced to put their issues aside when they meet Sofia’s 17-year-old daughter, Leïla (Faidi), who was in the car with her mother during the crash. Her anger at the driver of the flashy sports car that ran them off the road won’t be soothed by anything less than revenge. When the injured teen steals Gabriel’s gun to go after her mother’s killer — a person with powerful connections to the biggest security company in Europe — Gabriel and Driss must team up to save Leïla from making a mistake that could ruin her life. But along the way, these three orphans might just find a new family of their own.
