New situations can make for strange bedfellows. If you’re mercenary John Creasy (played by Emmy Award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) in the new drama series Man on Fire, that might mean going head-to-head with other trained killers as you try to save a young woman from certain death. But if you’re Sacha Baron Cohen’s philanderer Damien Sachs in the upcoming comedy flick Ladies First, it might mean that your “punchable face” is prepped for a right hook from Rosamund Pike’s hypercapable Alex Fox.

The trailers for both debuted alongside new previews of a variety of upcoming shows and movies this week. They include Nemesis, a series from the creator of Power about two men entangled in a jewel-encrusted cat-and-mouse game that could ruin them both, and Mating Season, another raunchy animated comedy from the creators of Big Mouth.

Man on Fire

Based on A.J. Quinnell’s book series, Man on Fire stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (First Match) as John Creasy, a skilled Special Forces soldier turned mercenary, who’s known for surviving even the most dangerous of situations. Creasy, battered and bruised, is now plagued with intense PTSD. Determined to overcome his personal demons, he sets out on a path to redemption. But before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself back in the fire, fighting harder than ever to save his friend Rayburn’s (Bobby Cannavale) daughter, Poe (Billie Boullet), after she witnesses a horrific crime. This action-packed drama series also stars Alice Braga (Samantha!), Scoot McNairy (Narcos: Mexico), and Thomás Aquino (Criminal Code).
