Get Your Heart Rate Up with the Cast of ‘The Marked Heart’

The hit new telenovela is bursting with talent.

    April 20, 2023

You know the classic story — Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy meets girl who coincidentally has the last girl’s heart inside her body. Well, that’s the tale of the returning Netflix series The Marked Heart. Get ready for a deep-dive into the sordid world of organ trafficking. The show’s lovelorn cast is full of telenovela veterans, and we’ve got a full guide to this crew of heartthrobs. “Who does my heart belong to?” is a classic soap opera dilemma, but it’s never been as literal as this.

Man with short beard and blue eyes

Michel Brown as Simón

The Argentine actor and musician plays Simón, a young widower who learns his wife was murdered and her heart stolen for a transplant. Furious and desperate for revenge, he embarks on a mission deep into the heart of the organ-trafficking organization that’s responsible. Brown is perhaps best known for his role in hit soap opera Pasión de Gavilanes, but he’s also the host of Univision’s Survivor riff Desafío: La Gran Batalla.

Margarita Muñoz as Valeria

Muñoz plays Valeria, Simón’s tragically murdered wife. Muñoz has found success on telenovelas like Dueños del Paraíso and Generation Y, as well as dramas like HBO Latinoamérica’s Sr. Ávila. She also played a recurring role on the short-lived Mexican Gossip Girl adaptation Gossip Girl: Acapulco. Muñoz and Brown’s on-screen chemistry isn’t just a convincing performance; the two actors are married in real life.

Ana Lucía Domínguez as Camila

Ana Lucía Domínguez’s performance as Camila, Simón’s new lover and the unknowing recipient of Valeria’s stolen heart, is at the center of The Marked Heart. As she falls in love with Simón, she begins to suffer from mysterious flashbacks to Valeria’s time with her heart and soon becomes determined to find out what happened to her. Domínguez has shared the screen with Brown before, in breakout telenovela Pasión de Gavilanes, but she’s also found success on shows like Señora Acero and Netflix’s Who Killed Sara?
