Start the Engine: The First 4 Minutes of ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Season 2 Are Here

LA’s hottest lawyer is back — and bloodier — than ever.

    July 5, 2023

The Lincoln Lawyer comes back swinging with a punch in the first four minutes of Season 2, Part 1 — literally.

In a dark and empty parking garage, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) fights for his life as he’s brutally attacked by two men dressed in black. “I know what you’re thinking. The parking garage? Again?” he narrates as he takes a bloody blow to the cheek. It’s hard to imagine anyone wanting to bruise the suave lawyer’s face, but before we find out how he got himself in this dangerous situation, we cut back to three months earlier.

Mickey’s on the rise as LA’s hottest defense attorney after winning the Trevor Elliott case at the end of Season 1. While Lorna’s (Becki Newton) juggling new client calls and press inquiries at the office, Mickey’s busy posing for a photo shoot in his Baldwin Hills pad. “Having that success helped him build his confidence, but he does get a little cocky after,” Garcia-Rulfo tells Tudum. The man has no time to rest, as he’s already been hired by a new client willing to pay his hefty fee up front.

Meanwhile, Maggie (Neve Campbell), Mickey’s first ex-wife and deputy district attorney, can’t seem to escape him — even at her office. His face is plastered on magazine covers and even her colleagues are thirsting after him. “I just love that relationship because they’re such opposites, but they’re so attracted to each other and have so many things together,” says Garcia-Rulfo. It looks like Mickey and Maggie are still trying to make things work, as the ex-spouses discuss dinner plans over the phone. But dinner isn’t the only thing on the menu this season…

With a new high-profile case to tackle, Mickey’s relationships will be put to the test as he reaches the prime of his career. The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2, Part 1 premieres on July 6.
