If France were embodied in a single character, it would be Sylvie Grateau. The fabulous CMO of Savoir and Emily Cooper’s boss in Emily in Paris knows when your LBD is, indeed, off-black (and she will do you the solid of telling you to your face).
Sylvie, played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, is exactly the type of person you want on your side, handling whatever crisis pops up — whether that’s reclaiming a priceless watch from a bratty American actress or cleaning up a social media blunder that absolutely mortified one of Savoir’s most beloved clients.

Sylvie is the bad bish we all need in our lives. Not only is she sophisticated, stylish, confident and wise, she’s a connoisseur of life who lives by her own rules. If her relationships with longtime client Antoine Lambert or nightclub owner Laurent G are any indicator, Sylvie’s approach to love is, well, avant-garde by most standards. However you might feel about marriage and romance, you have to applaud Sylvie’s independence and ownership of her own happiness.
“I don’t want a hundred percent of anyone, and I don’t want anyone to have a hundred percent of me,” Sylvie explains to Emily during one of their more intimate conversations.
You see, Sylvie isn’t like most of us — she doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. By the end of Season 2, we learn that the only person Sylvie is willing to answer to is herself. Is there anything else truly as iconique?
