In celebration of Stranger Things’ fifth and final season, Las Vegas officially entered the Upside Down. On Sunday, Dec. 28., an epic Stranger Things drone show lit up the Las Vegas sky, bringing iconic moments from the series to life. This Hawkins-inspired gathering with 5000 drones marked the largest drone show in the US to date and hundreds of fans gathered along the Las Vegas Strip to watch a surprise appearance from Vecna himself — Jamie Campbell Bower.

“Before [the finale] we’ve got one final thing for you,” Campbell Bower told the cheering crowd. “We’d like you to divert your eyes to the sky.” Up above, blinking lights paid homage to key characters, props, and scenes from the juggernaut series, including visuals of the WSQK van, the gang bicycling through Hawkins, and Will’s triumphant take-down of the Demogorgons.

Even Vecna himself was impressed. “Yo, that’s so cool!” Bower declared as he filmed the show with his iPhone.

Dubbed “One Last Adventure: Las Vegas,” the Hawkins-inspired gathering marked the final installment of global festivities celebrating the final season of Stranger Things. From interactive installations in Madrid, Spain, to an immersive Hawkins National Laboratory exhibit in Sydney, Australia, each event paid tribute to our favorite gang of monster fighters.
