When it finally became a sport at the 2020 Summer Olympics, competitive skateboarding moved to the world stage, and pro skateboarder Leo Baker was set to compete. But Baker, who has since come out as trans, became increasingly conflicted about the dissonance between his gender identity and being on the women’s Olympic skateboarding team — especially with all the sponsors and global publicity that came along with it. Actor and talk show host Drew Barrymore and her company Flower Films produced the film along with Vice Media’s Pulse Films.
The film is available to stream Aug. 11.
