In astrological circles, the phrase “Saturn return” refers to the time in a person’s life when that planet completes its transit and once again occupies the same position in the sky as it did when a person was born. In director Greg Kwedar’s forthcoming Saturn Return, which will debut in 2027, actors Charles Melton, Rachel Brosnahan, and Will Poulter also go through their own periods of transition — the film spans a decade in the lives of its characters, tracing their journeys into adulthood.

Saturn Return is Kwedar’s directorial follow-up to 2023’s Sing Sing. The film was written by Gaelyn Golde, with revisions by Kwedar and Clint Bentley. Bentley is the director of Netflix’s Train Dreams, which was written by Bentley and Kwedar.
