If Ronny Chieng is anything, he’s booked and busy. On top of being a long-running correspondent on The Daily Show, Chieng has also appeared in Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Crazy Rich Asians and Netflix special Asian Comedian Destroys America! And on April 5, Chieng’s domination of the comedy landscape continues with the premiere of his second Netflix special, Ronny Chieng: Speakeasy.

Speakeasy finds a stylish Chieng performing an intimate set at the Chinese Tuxedo bar and restaurant in New York City. According to the official synopsis, “with a unique blend of intelligence, rage and physicality, Ronny shares his take on the pandemic, race relations, cancel culture and stories from his experiences as an international touring comic.” In other words, just the light topics. But if there’s anyone who could make race and the pandemic funny, it’s Chieng, who at one point during the show, looks out at the audience and says, “On three, I want you to shout out which race you think is the worst.”

Ronny Chieng: Speakeasy is directed by Chieng’s creative partner and fellow Daily Show alum Sebastian DiNatale and is produced by creation studio All Things Comedy. Check out the swanky trailer below.
