Rob Reiner, son of The Dick Van Dyke Show creator Carl Reiner, made his television debut at 14. He went on to land the part of Archie Bunker’s son-in-law, Michael — aka Meathead — on All in the Family, a role for which he won two Emmys. Then, in 1984, Reiner made his directorial debut with the comedy classic This Is Spinal Tap, which was inducted into the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2002 for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” Reiner went on to direct some of the biggest cultural touchstones of the ’80s, including The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, and the Stephen King adaptation Stand By Me. Although actor-director Reiner died in late 2025, at the age of 78, his legacy lives on. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to his oeuvre, there’s likely a Reiner movie out there just for you. Here are six of the filmmaker’s movies streaming on Netflix now.

Up for reelection, widowed US President Andrew Sheperd (Michael Douglas) makes one last push for a big crime bill to boost his approval ratings. But when the president falls for charming lobbyist Sydney Ellen Wade (Annette Bening), who’s been helping him whip votes, his political opponents attack his values. In turn, his public support takes a nose dive. Now Andrew has to make an impossible choice: a second term as the most powerful man in the world, or a lifetime of happiness with Sydney?

Juli Baker (Madeline Carroll) believes in love at first sight. She’s known that Bryce Loski (Callan McAuliffe) was the one for her since the day she laid eyes on him in second grade. But six years later, Bryce still doesn’t reciprocate her feelings — in fact, he thinks she’s quite annoying — so Juli decides to move on. Unfortunately, that’s right around the time that Bryce starts to wonder if he was wrong about her all along.
The rom-com also stars Anthony Edwards (Designated Survivor), Penelope Ann Miller (DAHMER — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story), and John Mahoney (Say Anything) in his final film role before his passing.

After Sarah (Jennifer Aniston) travels back to California for her younger sister’s wedding, her oddball grandmother, Katharine (Shirley MacLaine), drops some mind-blowing family lore: Katharine was the inspiration for the character of Mrs. Robinson from The Graduate … which means Sarah’s mother ran off with Katharine’s lover decades ago. Soon, Sarah begins to question her parentage, which leads her to chase down the one man who can give her answers about those torrid affairs: millionaire Beau Burroughs (Kevin Costner), who just might be her biological father.
The multigenerational rom-com stars Aniston (Murder Mystery), MacLaine (The Last Word), and Costner (The Highwaymen), alongside Richard Jenkins (DAHMER — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story), Mark Ruffalo (The Adam Project), and Mena Suvari (American Beauty).

When two men from opposite walks of life — a millionaire (Jack Nicholson) and a car mechanic (Morgan Freeman) — become roommates in a hospital’s cancer wing, the new friends decide it’s finally time to live life to the fullest. Checking out against their doctors’ wishes, they go on an unforgettable journey to complete their bucket lists before they die. The buddy comedy-drama also stars Sean Hayes (Q-Force).

Alex Sheldon (Luke Wilson) is in trouble. He owes a lot of money to some very angry people who won’t hesitate to break his legs. His only chance at repaying his debts is to finish his novel within the month — and, boy, does he need to get paid. Enter Emma Dinsmore (Kate Hudson), a no-nonsense stenographer, hired to take dictation for his novel. But as Alex tries to write his love story, he realizes he doesn’t know much about love after all.
In addition to Wilson (No Good Deed) and Hudson (Running Point), this romantic comedy also features Sophie Marceau (The World Is Not Enough), David Paymer (Lucifer), and Reiner himself (The Wolf of Wall Street).

This biographical courtroom drama tells the story of a widow, Myrlie Evers (Whoopi Goldberg), and a young lawyer, Bobby DeLaughter (Alec Baldwin), in dogged pursuit of aborted justice. After Myrlie’s husband, civil rights leader Medgar Evers (played by James Pickens Jr.), is brutally murdered in 1963, all evidence points toward white supremacist Byron De La Beckwith (James Woods), who is acquitted by a jury of his white peers. Decades later, in 1989, Myrlie unearths new evidence that could lead to De La Beckwith’s conviction, and only the brash Mississippi DA DeLaughter is brave enough to take on the cold case.
William H. Macy (Shameless), Craig T. Nelson (Gold), and Bonnie Bartlett (Twins) join Goldberg (My Father’s Dragon), Baldwin (Still Alice), Pickens Jr. (Grey’s Anatomy), and Woods (Videodrome) in the cast.
