Making partner at a prestigious law firm is cutthroat, but for first-generation Korean American lawyer Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), the sacrifice is worth it. Plus, it’s not all work — as you can see in the trailer for legal drama Partner Track, Ingrid and her young colleagues have plenty of time for play.

Based on the book The Partner Track by Helen Wan, the 10-episode drama documents the trials (pun intended) and tribulations of Ingrid’s experience on the partner track at old-school Manhattan law firm Parsons Valentine. Not only does Ingrid need to break the elusive glass ceiling to achieve her dreams, she also has to battle old-minded attitudes toward race and inclusion on her way to the top.
And then there’s her romantic life: While Ingrid starts dating one of New York’s most eligible bachelors, a fling from her past comes back into her life — as one of her new co-workers. So now Ingrid must juggle the expectations of her family, the pressures of her ultra-demanding job, the attentions of two attractive and accomplished suitors and the structural racism and sexism at her white-shoe law firm. No pressure (read: all the pressure). As Ingrid’s mentor tells her in the trailer, “Do not fuck it up.”
Partner Track stars Cho, Bradley Gibson, Alexandra Turshen, Dominic Sherwood, Rob Heaps, Nolan Gerard Funk, Matthew Rauch and Roby Attal. It was developed by Georgia Lee, who runs the series with fellow executive producer Sarah Goldfinger, and it premieres Aug. 26 on Netflix.
