Hold onto your Straw Hats: Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and the crew are in for their grandest adventure in ONE PIECE Season 2, which is now streaming on Netflix.
New episodes find the fearless fivesome sailing for the Grand Line, a “legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn,” according to the official synopsis. As they “journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”
Season 1 set up the promise of entering the Grand Line, and in Season 2 “we make good on that promise,” showrunner, writer, and executive producer Joe Tracz says. “Every island we visit in the Grand Line is going to challenge one of the Straw Hats in a unique way, and they’re going to learn that, to fulfill their dreams, they have to rely on each other.”
A whole new world awaits for your favorite crew, and we’re mapping out the thrilling places they’ll discover along the way in the guide below. Now grab your compasses, hoist the Jolly Roger, and scroll down to learn all about what awaits in Season 2.

It’s the town of the beginning and the end. This bustling city is known as the site of the execution of the famous pirate king Gold Roger (Michael Dorman). At the heart of the city is the execution platform, where Roger was sentenced to death back in the Season 1 premiere. The great pirate era began here.

There’s plenty to explore, such as the Loguetown Opera and a sword shop which sells a variety of weaponry, including antiques.

Be warned: Reverse Mountain is where the dreams of pirates are crushed before they even begin. This towering summit, where a river flows up the mountain, is one of four points where the North, South, East, and West Blues meet.

A perilous environment for all who dare to sail, it’s where many have perished before reaching the Grand Line due to its treacherous currents and storms. So of course our courageous Straw Hats would use this entrance!

That’s no mountain … It’s a whale! A massive Island Whale to be exact. Native to the West Blue, Laboon is highly intelligent and bears many scars from repeatedly ramming into Reverse Mountain. He may be huge, but don’t let his imposing stature scare you. This unique sea creature is as friendly as he is big, and can even understand human dialogue.

Laboon’s caretaker is Crocus (Clive Russell), a former doctor. In addition to looking after the gentle whale, Crocus oversees the Twin Cape Lighthouse, which guides ships from Reverse Mountain into the Grand Line.

They simply adore pirates in the town of Whisky Peak. The town is the only city on Cactus Island, an island on the Grand Line, and sea-faring guests are more than welcome in with a massive party and overflowing mugs at their local tavern.

Catcus Island gets its distinct name from the rocky mountains strewn with graves that make the summits look like cacti. True to its pirate-friendly environment, a river flows through the island, permitting ships to dock inland.

Little Garden, another island on the Grand Line, has been untouched since the age of the dinosaurs. With its hot and humid jungle climate, a volcano that erupts hourly, and the dinosaurs that still roam, this prehistoric land is not exactly welcoming for humans looking for a lengthy stay.

Little Garden is home to giants Brogy (Brendan Sean Murray) and Dorry (Werner Coetser), who came to the isle more than a century ago and reside at the base of two mountains.

Make sure you’ve bundled up. Drum Island, a spot on the Grand Line where it’s eternally winter, is known for its freezing terrain and exceptional doctors. It also features a towering set of drum-shaped mountains, which surround the island like imposing monuments.

Atop the tallest summit is the eerie Drum Castle.
“It’s our medieval, Winterfell [on] Game of Thrones location, where you have this haunted-seeming castle at the top of a snowy mountain inhabited by someone the villagers say is a witch,” co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer Joe Tracz tells Tudum.
ONE PIECE, based on Oda’s beloved manga, follows a daring young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy as he sails the seas with his Straw Hats crew: swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), cartographer Nami (Emily Rudd), storyteller Usopp (Jacob Romero), and chef Sanji (Taz Skylar). Luffy dreams of becoming the King of the Pirates by finding infamous pirate Gold Roger’s mysterious treasure, the One Piece.
The live-action series was created in partnership with Shueisha and is produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix.
