Nick Kroll should really apologize to his mom.
In the trailer for his new stand-up special, Nick Kroll: Little Big Boy, the Big Mouth co-creator admits he’s habitually curt with his mother, joking that he has no shorter fuse than when his mom calls to tell him she’s “forwarding [him] an article about the LA Art Deco movement.” Kroll doesn’t think he’s alone in his crabbiness, either: Who among us hasn’t dodged a parental phone call, after all? Plus, Kroll posits, moms always get the short end of the parental stick, whereas dads get off scot-free just by playing it cool.

Fans can check out all those mom jokes and more in Nick Kroll: Little Big Boy, which will premiere globally on Sept. 27. Filmed at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC, Little Big Boy is Kroll’s first stand-up special for Netflix and finds the actor and comedian joking about heartbreak, becoming a dad and delivering his tips and tricks for emitting the perfect secret fart.
Can’t get enough Kroll? Don’t worry: Big Mouth Season 6 arrives on Netflix Oct. 28, just in time for all those Hormone Monster Halloween costumes. For now, check out more stills from his live show here:
