Next in Fashion is returning to the runway with Tan France and a shiny new co-host, Gigi Hadid.
The duo are searching for the next big name in fashion — but really, think of them more as your ultrachic, tough-but-kind fairy godparents.
The TV personality and the A-list supermodel are teaming up to counsel a fresh crop of contestants who are hoping to change the fabric of the industry forever. They’ll have to choose from a group of 12 incredibly talented designers who will compete for the opportunity to showcase their boldest looks on a global stage.
Hadid is, of course, more familiar with walking the runway than judging it. As Queer Eye’s fashion expert, France jokingly reminds her in the first teaser, “Nobody booked you to model, dear,” after she makes an entrance fit for fashion week. Old supermodel habits die hard, apparently.
Here’s everything you need to know about Next in Fashion Season 2.

Ten new episodes of Next in Fashion launch March 3.
The competition returns with a new co-host — perhaps you’ve heard of her — Gigi Hadid. The A-list supermodel is uniting with design expert and Queer Eye host Tan France to find fashion’s next big thing. The duo are also great friends outside of the show, and bring their decades of experience in fashion to the competition. Says Hadid, “We’re championing creative direction, concept and storytelling within fashion, and because of that, for the first time, we have hopes of finding new people to go into the industry and lead fashion houses.”
Twelve up-and-coming fashion designers from across the nation will be put to the test to deliver cutting-edge looks. Expect to see everything from exaggerated puffers and sleek menswear to cut-out dresses and drag-inspired gowns.
This season features designers Usama Ishtay, Nigel Xavier, Qaysean Williams, Megan O’Cain, James Ford, Eliana Batsakis, Desyrée Nicole, Deontre Hancock, Danny Godoy, Courtney Smith, Bao Tranchi and Amari Carter. Read more about them here.
The designers will push their creativity to the next level in a series of challenges — think swimwear, recycled fashion, Met Gala looks and beyond — to test their technical skills and artistic excellence.
Contestants will have a matter of hours to craft their looks before models will take to the runway for a fashion show under the watchful eye of a group of legendary guest judges. At the end of each episode, one designer will be named the winner of the challenge and one will be asked to leave the competition.
The line-up of guest judges lending their expertise to the competition are Donatella Versace, Jason Bolden, Isabel Marant, Emma Chamberlain, Bella Hadid, Olivier Rousteing, Hailey Bieber, Helena Christensen, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Candice Swanepoel, Ashley Park and Jennifer Hyman. Learn more about them here.
The designers will be competing for the chance to showcase their fashions to the world and win a prize of $200,000 from the subscription fashion service Rent the Runway. The winning designer will also be given the opportunity to launch their collection on RenttheRunway.com.
