Mondays can be a real drag. But a new week also means a fresh selection of movies and shows, all of which can help you get through whatever is making the weekend feel particularly far away.

For example, this Monday marks the arrival of the beachy musical special Dr. Seuss's The Sneetches. Tuesday is for laughs with Leanne Morgan: Unspeakable Things, the second Netflix stand-up special from the star of the Southern family sitcom Leanne, or thrills like Squid Game: The Challenge, the competition series inspired by the hit Korean drama Squid Game. In Season 2, 456 brand-new contestants don those green tracksuits to try their hand at never-before-seen games, and this time, if you can believe it, the stakes are even higher.

Thursday brings Death by Lightning, the Matt Ross–directed series starring Michael Shannon as James Garfield, the reluctant 20th president of the United States, and Matthew Macfadyen as his fatal admirer, Charles Guiteau. And Friday is all about Frankenstein, Guillermo del Toro’s adaption of the Mary Shelley classic, starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, and Mia Goth.
