Get ready to punch a one-way ticket to Murderville. In Netflix’s latest procedural crime comedy, which is executive produced by and stars Will Arnett, as Senior Detective Terry Seattle, Homicide Division, every day holds a new murder to solve — and a new celebrity guest star as his partner. The catch? Yes, really. The guest stars aren’t given a script, and as they assist Terry clue by clue, they have to improvise their way through the case. In the end, it’s up to these celebrities alone to name the killer. Are you hooked yet?
According to the evidence provided in the show’s first-look pictures, Murderville looks like Law & Order meets Whose Line Is It Anyway? Of course, the point is to break the case, not character. Based on the BAFTA award-winning BBC3 series Murder in Successville, the Arnett-led comedy will feature celebrity guests Annie Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong, Kumail Nanjiani, Marshawn Lynch and Sharon Stone.
Arnett is no stranger to the Netflix universe, either. From BoJack Horseman to Arrested Development, the actor and comedian knows how to serve up a good — sometimes belly-hurting — laugh. Will these stars be able to keep up with the senior detective and narrow down their suspects on the fly?
The investigation begins soon because Murderville premieres Feb. 3, so get your magnifying glasses ready.
