Amy Bradley Is Missing

The Mystery: In 1998, 23-year-old Amy Bradley disappeared off the Caribbean cruise where she and her family were vacationing. Last seen on the balcony of her cabin, her parents Ron and Iva Bradley, along with her younger brother Brad, began a frantic search to find her. A four-day search by the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard ensued along with a thorough scan of the cruise ship. Several people claimed to have seen her, both on the ship and on land, but each tip led to a dead end.

The Victim: Amy was born in Virginia and had recently graduated from college with a degree in physical education. She was a strong swimmer and athlete but had a fear of heights that made her initially apprehensive to join the cruise.

The Outcome: Amy’s father saw her on the balcony of their shared cabin about 30 minutes before she went missing, making it hard to point to any real suspects. To this day, Amy’s whereabouts are still unknown. The documentary series speaks with a handful of people who either claim to have seen her or have theories as to where she may be.

Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter

The Mystery: In 1974, 16-year-old Cathy Terkanian gave birth to a daughter, Alexis, and under pressure, gave her up for adoption at 9 months old. 35 years later, in 2010, she received a letter from the adoption agency saying her daughter had gone missing at the age of 14 in 1989 and the police needed her DNA to possibly identify a dead body. The body wasn’t Alexis’s, but Cathy had a renewed desire to find her daughter, diving into the world of internet sleuthing. She discovered her daughter was renamed Aundria Bowman and her disappearance wasn’t all that it seemed.

The Victim: Aundria Bowman was adopted by Brenda and Dennis Bowman and grew up in Hamilton, Michigan. She’s remembered as a smiling, engaging teenager with loyal friends.

The Outcome: Initially treated as a runaway, Aundria’s disappearance garnered no significant investigation when first reported. Cathy connects with Aundria’s high school friends and a local woman who survived an abduction and sexual assault around the same time, and soon the evidence points overwhelmingly to one person. In this two-part series, the road to justice is a long one, but it eventually leads toward the truth of what happened to Aundria.

The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann

The Mystery: It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: a sleeping child suddenly gone without a trace. This was Kate and Gerry McCann’s reality on May 3, 2007. On vacation with friends in Portugal, the adults were at dinner while their children slept, the parents taking turns looking in on them. At  around10 p.m., Kate checked on her sleeping 2-year-old twins and 3-year-old daughter, Madeleine, only to find her missing. Then began a highly publicized missing persons search garnering worldwide attention.

The Victim: Madeleine was a happy girl from Rothley, outside Leicester, England. She is described as blond with a blue-green left eye and a green right eye with a brown spot on the iris.

The Outcome: Madeleine’s parents came under scrutiny by Portuguese police, though they were later cleared. The first formal suspect was Robert Murat, a British-Portuguese man interviewed in the documentary who lived near the McCanns’ vacation apartment. He was eventually eliminated as a suspect and other eaerly leads also turned into dead ends. Almost 20 years later, and after millions spent by authorities over years of investigating, her whereabouts remain unknown, though in 2020 a German man currently serving a prison sentence was identified as a strong suspect.
